My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and fell in love with the place. The suite was worth the drive down from Liberia alone. The views were breathtaking no matter where you stood in the room and it is so close the the beach, we got to wake up to the sound of the waves in the morning....

Moana has is located in a perfect spot in Mal Pais; close enough to enjoy what Santa Teresa has to offer, but in a beautiful location that is great if you just want to retreat to tranquility. The restaurant and bar have stunning views over the coast line, which make for a great setting for breakfast & sunset drinks. This...

It's our second time at Moana and we're already thinking about our next visit... This very charming, "boutique-type" hotel, sits on a quiet, nature-rich hill (ie, trees, birds, monkeys) in Malpais, just a few minutes drive from Santa Teresa, where you'll find great restaurants, bars, beaches, etc. The breeze and the views from the suite -- and from the restaurant...

This is a very attractive property set on several levels on a hillside. From top to bottom must have been about 60/70 steps, we were in the second second to top suite. The rooms were very well appointed and had good views out over trees towards the coast which was probably 300 Mtrs distant. There was a small pool and...

Hotel Moana is a very good choice in Santa Teresa/Mal Pais. The road to the hotel is potholed which only adds to the adventure. We had a junior suite with a sofa bed for our kids. The junior suites are higher up and the Ocean Views were absolutely marvelous. Finishings in the room were all top notch. Chapeau to the...

Rented the full suite at the top of the hill because we booked last minute and it was all that was left. We paid $330 per night which we felt was a little expensive as it did not include even drinking water in the room and the suite got very hot in the day time making it difficult to take...

Amazing property and lovely people. Mario was extremely helpful booking our fishing trip, and everyone at the restaurant were equally as wonderful. The food was delicious and the view was, of course, breathtaking. I highly recommend Hotel Moana for anyone wanting to see the Pura Vida of Costa Rica!

My family and I (2 adults and 2 kids 13 & 16) stayed in one of the Moana's junior suites located almost on top of a steep hill. Due to the heat and humidity It was a bit of an effort to climb up to our suite but was it ever worth it!!! It felt like we were in the...

We arrived completely nuts after an incredible rollercoaster trip through 50 km from Marbella to Malpaís, the worse road we've done in Costa Rica. Now, we were assigned a tiny room in a low deck bungalow, which we've noticed wasn't what the info promoted: room with views and comfort. So we've taken the Junior Suite, which price was more than...
