So I have mixed feelings.
First, the staff are great. In particular, Gene is a great guy, and the girl behind the bar is a total sweetheart! Awesome people.
However, the beds are not comfortable at all. lumpy pillows, scratchy sheets. A/C broken the whole...More
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Mal Pais Surf Camp and absolutely loved it. After a long day of travelling on the first day, the staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating to our needs. We stayed in one of the Cabinas with A/C which...More
I stayed at this resort for 6 nights in total - 5 nights in a private double room ($50 USD a night) and in an open air cabana for 1 night (I think $28 USD). In my view this a great resort and the staff...More
The best thing about this stay was the sense of safety. The place was also devoid of noisy, partying types. We look forward to returning to Mal Pais and will definitely stay here again! The pool is absolutely perfect and we were able to see...More

I only spent one night in one of their open air bungalows with lockers. I did, however, note that were tents and campers on a cleaning just below the restaurant and bungalows. You would have to ask if campers have access to lockers. I'm pretty sure you could leave your tents up overnight, but again, I would ask contact them via their website.
Hope this helps!
