Unfortunately this hostel got recommended to us by somebody we met travelling. I wish we didnt book it. People partying infront of the room until 2 am, the staff says its out of their hands to do anything. No towels available at all, we got a sheet instead. The matress is 1 cm thin so you really feel those bed... More

Barely made it through 2 nights, even though I had booked for 11 nights. Mattress so thin I couldn't sleep, the kitchen almost made me puke, closet full of ants, very dirty pool and there was never toilet papaw in the toilets. I actually told the receptionist(who could barely speak English) to check out the reviews. A lot of ppl... More

Don't get me wrong, El Faro Beach Hostel was a bit of fun for a few days. Travelling as a team of young adults, our budget was slim and we were given a workable yet very small dorm room to fit all 13 girls. It was ever sunny and very hot-not helped by the fact that the dorm was made... More

Dirty, noisy, expensive and not taken care of. Basically it s a dirty bed with linen not sure when they ve been washed the last time. The fan is useless. At night they just let poeple take care of the place . we had to threaten them to call the police for them to finally do something. Dont stay

The kitchen was not racoon proof and kind of dirty. But the room was good, it's directly located to the park entrance and the pool's a nice plus!! The beach is also close although the beaches in the parc are much nicer!!

I stayed in a dorm in this hostel due to the nice position, so close to Manuel Antonio National Park, the swimming pool and the kindness of its receptionists (shared with the Hotel..this must be why :-) ) . Unfortunately, behind the nice swimming pool area and garden, all the rest was deplorable. Old matresses, dark dorm and stinky and... More

Came here for a night to check out Manuel Antonio, and left as soon as we could the next morning. Dorms were about as damp and dark and mouldy as they get, beds were basically a plank with sheets, kitchen smelled like piss, and I'm not the fussy type but was afraid to touch the walls of the (freezing) showers.... Located close to park and beach. ONLY POSITIVE THING. Rooms, disgusting. Bedding, unclean with holes. Staff, rude, not helpful just son awful. The rooms are paper thin walls could hear everything outside and inside from the dorm. My dorm was supposed to be "women only" they said when I checked in. I was the only one there until 10 males... This place was filthy. We were a large-ish group. Some had reservations for the dorms and others had reservations for private rooms. The dorm room that the group got had beer cans and socks in it (there was no one else assigned to the room but our group). I was given keys for the private rooms, I found one of... More

Worst hostel experience ever. Nothing in this place is well maintained, the kitchen is a nightmare. We sided with the fact that we wouldn't be spending much time in the hostel so left our bags in the lockers for the day, upon returning at 1030pm I found bed bugs!!! They put us in a 3 bed a/c room which was... More
