A beautiful setting, superior service and accommodations. Excellent food and attentive staff. Be forewarned that due to a problem with prostitution at the hotel, with the exception of the restaurant, non-registered guests are completely barred from the property. It was

We stayed five nights in a Superior Oceanview Room and it did not disappoint! The view from the room is second to none, as well as from the pool and Le Papillion restaurant. This is a one of a kind location; We saw Monkeys and Scarlet Macaws around the property every day.

The view we had from our room at La Mariposa was drop jaw gorgeous. Amazing to wake up to, and watch the sunsets as well. Also an extra treat to see 10-20 squirrel monkeys do their routine practically every day, jumping from tree to tree, 3+ red macaws fly by multiple times a

2 beach chairs & umbrella $10, during the week. Sat &Sun $15 for the same 3 items. One could use $s or Pesos, everywhere! Never took the shuttle, walk down to the beach 20 minutes, make left and walk another 20 minutes to the end if you wish. Great food at several location by the beach. Now walking back to La Mariposa, is a great experience if you don't need to rush. Enjoy the birds, monkeys and sleuths, if you take your time

All restaurants take both currencies, however if you pay with a credit card you get a better exchange.

Yes. Locally we do accept US dollars. Many businesses will accept USA currency as a courtesy. So businesses that choose to accept US dollars set their own exchange rate, so you may find the rate different from store to store, and the rate will NOT be in your favour If you compare this with the official exchange rate given by the local Banks which is higher. Also, most of the times you will receive your change in Costa Rican currency (Colones) We hope this information helps. We can’t wait to see you here at our lovely place. Pura Vida. We stayed at the Parador Resort early July. I purchased raincoats for the entire family, but we only wore them once. The rain is fairly predictable, starts around 4 in the afternoon and can go all night, complete with thunder and lightning. We found it very enjoyable.
