The rooms are small and the service is horrible. Pay $10 more and stay at a place that cares about customers. They have NO amenities and treat customers like cattle. Location is good but the beach isn't everything.

There is nothing good we can say about this place. We spent 14 days in CR and except for this middle time, we had a delightful experience. However, the staff here was not at all accommodating - beginning with our arrival until our departure. The rooms did not seem clean - not at all happy about these 3 days /... More

We stayed at the Hotel Verde Mar in high season (mid-week) and were able to get a room without making a reservation. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. We had an efficiency with one queen bed. There was hot water in the shower but no toiletries (bring your own stuff). The efficiency had a sink, dishes, cutlery, mini-fridge, hotplate.... More

We recently stayed here for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The beach access couldn't be much closer and the accommadations were nice and very clean. The a/c was heavenly after the 90 degree day at the park, which was only a short walk away. The staff was very pleasant and proffessional. Beautiful pool and mosaic tile... More

There are three gorgeous beaches in and around Manuel Antonio National Park. Two are inside the park and thus have no hotel facilities. The third, just outside the park, is crowded with tourists, most of whom have to take a bus or shuttle from their hotels to get to the surf. The Verde Mar, however, really is right on the... More

If you're looking for a simple, affordable accommodation with the best location- be sure to stay here! Where most hotels in Manuel Antonio are perched on the cliffs and offer great views of the ocean, you can be basking on the Costa Rican shore literally just steps outside the hotel- and I'm not even exaggerating about the distance. The rooms... More

My wife and I stayed here in early December. The room on the second floor was clean and quiet. No security or ventilation problems. The front desk staff was very helpful with tour arranging and other issues. The hotel now has a restaurant with an excellent chef. We ate many meals there. The hotel is very close to the beach.... We stayed here 4 nights as it met our teens' criteria: on the beach, pool, and walking distance to shopping and Manuel Antonio park. It also met our criteria, cheaply priced, clean and easy access to sunsets and cold drinks, without driving! It is an older hotel, but if you want to be really close to the beach and the... More

We took a chance and stayed two night this week 11/21 and was charged $70 plus tax. This hotel room had a view of the ocean - beware- all rooms face the pool and you need to look to your left to see the ocean. Only rooms at the end have a view of the beach. Ramone the guy working... More
