Arrived to discover there was a lot of steps, told staff that I had problems with my knees and walking up steps was really difficult, the staff couldn't of been any more helpful, they were amazing and ensured we had everything we needed. The setting is just stunning, only bad thing was there was a lot of building work going...

My best friend and I stayed at Makanda for her 30th birthday and it was an excellent choice! We arrived very late so reception was closed which wasn't ideal but expected from this type of boutique hotel. There was still someone to help us with our bags and they left a little note for us with essential information. We arrived...

My wife and I stayed here over the past 4 days. We were blown away by the care taken to ensure that we had an incredible experience. When I booked I sent an additional email to the hotel asking if they could recommend a fishing charter to take us out for a full day off-shore. Leo the hotel manager was...

We absolutely loved our stay at Makanda hotel - beautiful grounds, stunning villas, friendly and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. The pool is beautiful and we loved the fact that we could use it pretty much 24/7. We had both lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean, both the food and the view...

The hotel is a building site and should not be currently occupied by guests. There was no atmosphere (we were regularly the only people by the pool), constant construction noise around the whole resort from 9am until dark, and the breakfasts were appalling (these are served cold in a basket to your room as there is no proper restaurant at...

First time visiting Costa Rica, Hotel Makanda and their staff made the trip! I highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity. Stunning lush green jungle and wildlife engulf you, the sunsets by the pool are insanely beautiful. Plenty of things to do close by, including the beach and state park. The villas are amazing. You gotta check it...

This is the best hotel I've ever been to! Hotel's location is perfect. My villa was surrounded by the forest and I could see the ocean from my window. So private, peaceful and comfortable. I definitely recommend this place!!!

We were staying in one of the villas, with about 100sqm with a large balcony. The room was equipped with a full kitchen. Breakfast is served to the room, with no extra fees. In the morning we had a lot of monkeys visiting us and watching us through the windows. In the evening we had tucans and a sloth next...
