The Rio Tico was a gem in the jungle. A ways down a dirt road, its well worth the trip to get there. Case, the owner, is so full of grace, assistance, and charm, its worth a visit just to talk with him. In a beautiful setting, with a lovely river that has natural water slides and soaking spots. The...

My husband, myself and another couple spent a week there and loved every minute of it. WOW is the only way to describe such a place. The only complaint I could even imagine is that we didn't stay long enough. There are no tv's, no bothersom telephones. (good luck getting signal). These are called tents but you can not say...

My husband and I spent a week at the Rio Tico Safari Lodge and we were not disappointed. The lodge is truly a hidden paradise! If you want to get away from it all and be one with nature, then this place is for you. No crowds, no annoying tourists. The tents are magnificent and are immaculately well kept and...

Spend 5 days in this place to finish our 3 week trip throught the country and by far this was the best. Beautiful place with nice spacious tentrooms with attached bathrooms. But the natural bathroom / pool in the river is even better to cool down after a nice hike or a day at one of the near beaches. The...

Looking back to our stay in Costa Rica, Rio Tico lodge was the most special stay! In the middle of the nature, between the sounds of a jungle, a Dutch coulpe runs this lodge. They are friendly, helpfull and very hospitable. There a a lot of things to do like watching Dolphins, visit an Indian reservation (Boruca) and visit Park...

We were here for one night and we regret that! What a beautiful location! The tents were perfect. We went to the waterfall to swim. It was like in a movie. So romantic and beautiful. We ate in the restaurant a few 100 meters from the lodge. Good food for a low price. We advise to book at least two...

I looked this hotel up before departing to Costa Rica and I was incredibly happy to find all our expectations were met! The tents were spacious, comfortable and even luxurious with a nice seperate bathroom, a river-view terrace and a big, cozy bed. You fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle and venturing up the path to the reception...

Rio Tico is located just 15 minutes of road 34, inlands, surrounded with beautiful nature and very helpful hosts. We stayed for two nights and had the feeling that we could have stayed much longer. The lodge is a stunning destination with an amazing fall (La Pavon) nearby, beaches (Ballena), walking trails, wild life and nice restaurants. The luxurious safari...

Rio Tico has earned its place as the best rated in the region. We stayed for a week using the lodge as a stepping off point for various day trips and adventures. That said, the lodge is a destination of itself with the river and incredible falls, walking trials, hikes, birds and other forest creatures, all from the doorstep. Our...

We stayed at Rio Tio Safari Lodge because a traveler we met the day before highly recommended it. She told us it was "paradise on Earth". It turned out she was quite right. The tent you sleep in is next to a beautiful river and waterfall. There are beautiful flowers and butterflies everywhere. The hosts are charming and very helpful....
