We stayed here at our end of our roundtrip trough Costa Rica. What a place to stay! First starts allready with the cool transfer by little boat trough the mangroves and across the ocean. On arrival you get of the boat in the water before getting on the beach. They get your luggage tot the hotel. They drop you of... More

I have stayed here twice, and each time it reassured me why this is one of my favorite places to stay while in Costa Rica. I am one that loves remote, and understands what that means in this area of the World. DO NOT EXPECT anything other than that. If you are looking to connect with one of the most... More

We purchased the 5 day package at the resort which included a day snorkelling at Cano Island, a day in Corcovado Park, all meals and transfers. They also organized our flight from San Jose to Palmar Sur. We were not dissapointed. Everything was very well organized. We were met at the resort and escorted to our room and our lunch... More

This is not the Hilton. It is however the most fun you will have if you take the time to go. Our package included water transport from Sierpe ( 1 1/2 hour by boat thru the mangroves and down the coast, with a beach landing !), with the same on return. We had a beach front room. Rooms are rustic... More

As the name states: this is a "poor man's paradise". rooms or shared cabanas include meals at the outside resturant. Jacked up alchol prices at the local bar reflect the need to haul in EVERYTHING. This family run venture is on the edge of Coracovado Park, the Pounding pacific, with all the isolation you want. No wifi, available bottled drinking... More

We took a boat ride all the way from Sierpe to Poor Man's. Amazing view. Breathtaking. Pictures can no do justice. The ocean was the most beautiful color and really fun to swim in! The beach is very clean, however there were sand fleas all over when we stayed. The staff is super friendly. Highly suggest a night hike! Horseback... More

The Amayas have upgraded their place but haven't updated the pictures. The restaurant is much nicer than the pictures show. Sonia's house is beautiful and the white faced monkeys visited our back porch. They arranged an overnight trip into Corcovado National Park with Adrion and he found lots of animals that we wanted to see. It's worth the effort to... More

You can hear the ocean if you get one of the closer cabins which is nice. Coconuts will wake you in the night. The staff is super. Very helpful, cordial. The bar is fun and outdoors which I love. it's a wild place filled with birds and monkeys. Great value. Like being in a movie set really. Truly an adventure... More

Surreal stay right on the beach! Lots to do; we went horseback riding to a turtle conservation, "kayaked" up a river then floated back stopping to hike and jump off waterfalls. Walked the beach every morning. Great food! Extremely friendly staff and guides. Mangrove tour, rainforest night hike, and snorkeling. Also, comfortable cabins! One of my favorite stops in Costa... Our vacation at Poor Man's Paradise was one of the best our family has ever had! We were able to fish (we caught yellowfin tuna, roosterfish, bonita and sailfish), horseback ride, explore Corcavado Rain Forest (only a short boat ride away), take a day trip up Rio Claro to see waterfalls, snorkel, and body surf on remote beaches, among other...
