We ate lunch one day at the Lookout Inn, and immediately booked lunch and dinner for the rest of our stay in Carate. Terry, Katya and the staff were... More

We found the Lookout Inn Lodge through a simple Google search when searching for potential honeymoon destinations in Costa Rica. I will begin by saying that our stay exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were as described...the scenery was beautiful, a coastal paradise surrounded by hills, beautiful beaches, a short walk from a lagoon, and wildlife that came right up to... More

I was feeling overwhelmed by life and work and decided one Sunday spring 2015 that I needed to go to The Lookout Inn. I hadn't been there in 10 years when I vacationed with my teenage daughter and her friend. But now I needed some space to myself but I also wanted friendly faces and a clean, open air tropical... My wife and I stayed at Lookout Inn from April 30-May 3, after an exhausting 3 days hiking in Corcovado. We had an amazing time! Terry, Katya, Andy and the rest of the staff (humans and animals) were great hosts. Lots of jokes, laughter and good conversations during meals together. They accommodated our dietary requirements with no issues, making delicious... More

We loved our stay at Lookout Inn. What we loved: the views, the visiting scarlet macaws (BEST sighting you will ever have of these wild birds); the food was inventive, plentiful, delicious, and they catered to our vegan and gluten free crowd; proximity to hiking to Corcovado (we saw a Burundi on a one hour hike); THE POOL! One of my favourite places ever. It is quite a trek to get too - a couple of hours down bumpy dirt roads, through forest, fording rivers - but at the end of it is the most beautiful and tranquil place, set in its own gardens, stretching from the deserted beach up the hill until it touches the forest. My family and I came here years ago, and will never forget the hospitality of the host who ensured all of our needs were met including different food allergies. They did everything to make our stay enjoyable. It is a very unique area and one that I will be back to in the near future!
