Stayed for 3 nights at Pura Vida. Most of the time there was a weird smell (kind of sour, like wet dog) and everybody noticed and wondered what it was. The dorm I stayed in were not smelly, though. The kitchen was pretty dirty, and especially the plates were always sticky and not clean. The hostel has a really nice...

What makes a home is the people, the owner and managers of the hostel, being backpackers themselves, realize this and make it as comfortable a home for you as possible. When you check in the hostel, you are guaranteed to have a good time or the managers won't let you check out without it. Stayed here for one night, and...

Excellent hostel with extremely friendly and helpful staff, always willing to offer help in whatever way they can. Clean rooms with a well equipped kitchen and beautiful balconies for relaxing on, surrounded by nature. Great location; near both Quepos (for cheaper supplies) and Manuel Antonio (beach/park). I've been in Costa Rica for a year and Pura Vida Hostel provides an...

Good value for money. I stayed there for 3 nights and I got the 4th for free. Free pancakes and coffee in the morning. I made new friends there, the owner is a really nice guy and involves you with various activities, which is good especially if you're a solo traveller. Pura Vida!

With the most amazing people in the hostel who gave us the best time, my friend and I couldn't recommend the hostel any more. Such a fun communal area that everyone is welcomed to and included, trips to the waterfall, the beach and just enjoyable nights in with fun and hilarious people. Couldn't recommend the hostel more highly.

This hostel is perfect for your stay in Quepos/Manuel Antonio. -Easy walk to Quepos for all your grocery/liquor needs but not too far from Manuel Antonio beaches. The public bus stops right in front of the apartment and can take you to the beaches in Manuel Antonio.

We had booked 3 nights in a private room at this hostel, but ended up staying only 1 night. We didn't sleep at all that night, because of all the cars, trucks and motorbikes passing right in front of our room and people talking (more like screaming) the whole night until 3am (it was a Tuesday night..?!). The room and...

I booked this hostel for a group of girlfriends and I who were planning on visiting Manuel Antonio our second weekend in Costa Rica, we were not disappointed. I've stayed in hostels around the world and by far this was the best. From the staff at checkin, the delicious pancakes in the morning, the rooms, plus it's really nice if...

Really nice hosts. They showed me their secret waterfall you can jump off and took me on a surftrip. The hostel is not really luxe, but everybody is really nice and the pancakes as breakfast are great!

The only reason i gave it a point is that the staff on desk very helpful and smiley, and bed clothes and towels seemed clean. Apart from that basic is an understatment, bed seen better days, toilet mat disgusting. and not really a super cheap place to stay. Coffee and pancakes for beakfast was nice until i saw the kitchen,...
