This 12 bed hotel is run by Carlos and Nattie and offers superb simple homely accommodation in down town San Jose. This is a safe area and is close to the courts of human rights and is a short walk to a shopping centre with many bars and restaurants also. Breakfast is included in the modest price and was delicious...

Home for 4 days of our extended Costa Rican trip has been Hotel Casa Cambranes, a small place in bustling San José that feels part hotel, part someone's home, probably because it is both. The hosts are Carlos and his wife, Naty, who are truly the most gracious, accommodating hosts we've ever had. Highlights: Carlos and Naty - they helped...

Hotel Casa Cambranes is the place my husband and I continue to call home here in Costa Rica. We have now stayed here four nights (and counting!) over the span of 2 weeks, leaving only to explore other areas of the country and then return. Being here is like being home. Staying at Hotel Casa Cambranes affords you the following:...

This hotel is more like a B&B than a hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff who speak perfect English. Their cat Marvin is very cute ! Great location that's for sure. 2 supermarkets within 10 min walk, restaurants, Starbucks and a shopping mall nearby. I don't know San jose very well but the neighbourhood seemed very nice and it was...

We were the only people staying that night. The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable. There isn't any AC, so it was a little warm in the room at night, but it wasn't a huge deal. The complimentary breakfast was quite good.

I stayed here at the end of February, and even though we only stayed one night, I felt like I was part of the family. Carlos and Naty are wonderful hosts, and wonderful cooks! The breakfast was simple and delicious, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is located close enough to San Jose, but not in the...

The location is ideal - 5 min walk from facilities but in a quiet (but safe) street. (There is a dance school nearby but their music ended before I wanted to go to sleep.) Buses run into the centre or it's about 25 min walk. The couple who run the hotel were unbelievably helpful. The decor is of the 80s...

We stayed here two nights. Carlos, Naty, and Marvin (the cat) were great! The hotel is located in the Los Yoses area of San Jose. We opted for breakfast at the hotel and it was great. This is a boutique hotel and NOT a chain...which means the place is nice, safe, and the rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable--not glam...

Great two nights at the Casa. Carlos and Naty make you feel very welcome - they aren't just managing a small hotel, they are fantastic problem solvers. This was our first time in San Jose and we weren't sure how to get around, what to do, where to eat - they had all the answers!!! We reached out to them...

Extremely nice, clean and cosy place with comfortable beds and yummy breakfast. The owner Carlos made our visit unforgettable! If we had a relative or a guide in San Jose he couldn't be more helpful than Carlos! If we come back to San Jose we will definitely stay at Casa Camranes! Highly recommended.

Thank Acelle G
