So we went to this restaurant because it's one of my friends favorites one and we ordered and while we were drinking our glass of wine he told me happy birthday and just that so when we finished our main dish the waiter brought me this amazing house recipe birthday cake just because he listened my friend telling happy b-day...

We regretted that we spent only one night here--the night of our arrival in Costa Rica. This hotel made a beautiful first impression. The room (24) was very comfortable and lovely. Service was excellent. We had breakfast the next morning in the courtyard, which was excellent. The fruits were to die for. And this was an excellent introduction to how...

Boutique, old colonial style hotel with many rooms around courtyard areas about 20min walk from central San Jose. We used this as a stopover after/before flights and it works for that. Stylish and very photogenic with a lovely restaurant, small shop, no gym or pool but tiny rooftop area with jacuzzi. Avoid standard rooms which are cramped and with tiny...

We were an adult family of 6 so got 3 rooms. All were nicely appointed, clean and charming. The roof top hot tube/seating area is a must on a cool night but what really stood out for us was the restaurant. By far one of the best meals we experienced in Costa Rica.

We stayed here on our last night in CR. The hotel is beautiful, the beds comfortable, the front desk service is fantastic. We were not impressed with the restaurant, even though it is rated as one of the top restaurants in CR. It's a gorgeous restaurant. We would stay here again, and I would recommend it.

Spoiler alert: You are probably not spending your trip in San Jose. Like most, we used this as our decompression point out of the country. The hotel is amazing, an old plantation style home converted into a 40 room boutique hotel.... very cool. We stayed in a room with a patio and it was clean and relaxing. The restaurant in...

After the most harrowing 40 mins of my life, picking up a worn out hire car and negotiating chaotic San Jose traffic at 11p.m on a Friday night, we parked up in the secure parking 30 yards from the hotel. From then on, all was good. Good room (32) with its own ornamental water feature out side it's window. Very...

I have had the pleasure of staying one night in this hotel and wished I could have stayed longer. Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and nicely appointed bathrooms. It was peaceful and quiet. If you stay here PLEASE make a reservation to have dinner in their restaurant. Great wines and food! I would love to return to this hotel if...

This hotel is an absolute gem in the heart of San Jose. Very pleasant, historic with kind of an old fashioned feel, its staff extremely kind and courteous, it is the perfect choice for anyone looking to spend a couple of days in the city. The location is very central and within a 10 mn walk from downtown, central market...

Stayed here for both our first and last nights in Costa Rica, as we flew via San Jose. Very friendly staff, both at the front desk and service staff. Lots of natural elements such as small courtyards, fountains, and plants throughout the hotel. Comfy beds and the other benefit was that it was quite close to the Parque de Sabana...
