We stayed for a night before our flight home from San Jose and liked the quirky hotel - a series of old buildings over several stories connected by courtyards, covered walkways and atriums which the rooms open onto. The property is old but looked after,...More
My family and I stay at this hotel couple of nights it was absolutely nice and quiet! jumy breakfast! comfortable beds, really hot shower! super clean. I love the architecture & decoration in general. The staff was so helpful & friendly! highly recommended!

Sorry I didn't answer sooner. We didn't see any noteworthy attractions nearby, but found the parks, streets, shops and markets nearby safe to walk to. We did get out about 10 in the morning, and felt no qualms about being out. The hotel is in the business district, so there always a lot of people around. Our driver from the airport recommended being watchful when we used our cell phones in the event someone came by and tried to grab the phone, but we didn't encounter any thieves.
