Rooms were prison cell like. Neighbourhood was sketchy at night. Staff was uninterested and inattentive. Bathroom smelled. THe hotel also charged by the hour....now there are a lot of bus terminals in the vicinity so I can't be sure if the hourly rates were to accommodate people on layovers or for more prostitute leaning reasons. I did notice a few...

The Quinta avenida Hotel is a Basic No thrills budget lodging. If you dont need much more than a bed to sleep for the night and a place to shower this hotel might work for you. My room just had a bed with a very thin mattress and a ceiling fan. The shower had hot water but with very little...

It may not be in the greatest location, but our room was clean and quiet. The (apparently) 24-hour bar in the same building can get a little loud if you are directly over it, but the rest of the hotel is OK. The downtown area is a short walk away, and the streets appear to be safe. For the money,...

I don't like how people write crazy ranting reviews about how a spec of dust was discovered, Ive stayed in budget hotels and hostels however; I haven't ever written a bad review, but here goes.. my expectations weren't high, having booked a budget hotel, said expectations further plummeted when I saw the 5.000colones for 2 hrs sign at the front....

We stayed here for one night before flying out the next day. It did the job. The room itself was clean, the bathroom smelt of mould (although was pretty clean). There was also a baby cockroach problem in the bathroom; they were coming out of the wall. The ladies at the front desk were helpful, especially when they pointed us...

Incredibly stupid designed, room without window!!! Hard mattress, bad smell in room. Very noisy place. This is one of cheapest hotels in San Jose, so I didn't demand miracles. Much better choose hostel, or guesthouse in the same price. I definetly don't recommend this hotel.

The place is not spectacular, but it was affordable, bug-free and comfortable. The people working the front desk were very friendly and helpful, so we felt well taken care of. The people at breakfast are fun to talk to and also very friendly. The only negatives about the place are the noise you can hear at night from outside from...

After the heat and humidity it was wonderful to wake up nice and cool this morning. We arrived late last night, almost 9:00pm. Check-in was easy. Unfortunately we were also in a part of town where the taxi driver felt compelled to point out which directions were 'peligroso' (dangerous) and which were not. Later we grabbed some chicken from a...
