The owners are wonderful Christian folks who said a pray before we let wishing us a safe and healthy time. We had the room near the BBQ grill which we used. The rooms are very basic and just what we needed. I wished they had a tv in the other bedroom.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Alpine Inn Motel and had an amazing experience. We did not have a rental car so Heather was very kind and offered us rides to the local hiking sites and restaurants. The room was very clean and had an amazing view of the local mountains. We also had caught fish in Homer and they allowed us to keep them frozen in their freezer. The location was also optimal - they were very close to the local town center. I would definitely stay here again.

In August of 2019, Cooper Landing was under a stage one evacuation alert due to a 130,000 acre forest fire in the area. Once this was announced I tried to cancel my reservation for two nights at this Motel. However, per the manager, I "canceled 61 hours and 32 minutes prior to the check-in date" instead of the required 72 hours, so I was not going to get a refund for my money. When I questioned this due to the evacuation alert, I was told that " all that means is that there is a big fire in the area." When I questioned the manager about the smoke levels in that area, he said it was very pleasant. I said I can't believe that because it was very smoky in Anchorage and points south. He then stated that "apparently you understand weather patterns here in Alaska as well as you do the cancellation policy." He further stated "how about you act like a man and hold yourself accountable" My son called him and tried to reason with him and ask why he was being so disrespectful. I overheard the conversation, and my son was being very polite. The manager cursed at him, called him names, and threatened him. "If you come down here, you'll get hurt." Our highly regarded fishing guide, who recommended this Inn to us also called him. The manager cussed him out and called him names also. He finally did refund our money after being told he was in the wrong so many times. However, it could have been much simpler and much more customer service oriented. I would have been recommending his hotel instead of warning people off. As a 35 year Alaskan, I know a lot of people up here. The fishing guide he insulted is well known and knows the other guides as well as many clients. What he said to my son is unforgivable.

I must state that this review is far from accurate. The fire the gentleman refers to was miles away from the motel. The fire was causing smoke issues depending on which way the wind was blowing. At the time this gentleman was discussing this with me and at the scheduled time for his stay the skies were clear and there were no smoke issues. I informed the individual of this and was told I must be lying. My statement may be fact checked by looking up the prevailing winds on the days of this guest's scheduled stay. The reason he wanted to cancel was because his guide was not able to take him on his scheduled fishing trip because the area they were going to fish was not open due to the fire miles away. I explained that the guide was not connected to our business and that I could put him in contact with other guides who worked other parts of the river that were open for fishing. He refused my offer and demanded a refund. I informed him that due to his time of cancellation we would not refund his money, but because we do strive to keep all guests happy, even the rude and unreasonable ones, that if I could rebook the room I would refund his charges. We were able to rebook his room and thus he was refunded for the charges. There was never a threat of physical harm from myself, though his son did threaten to come down to the motel and straighten me out. The guide called and threatened me as well, though I excused this as I understood he was losing a lot of business due to the river being closed where he fished. This guest was told the cancellation policy when he made his reservation. He read and acknowledged the policy. He booked a trip with a third party company that has no connection to our business, as such just because that business could not provide services they offered we were under no obligation to refund a stay when we could provide the services he requested from us. After all this, we still refunded his stay because we were able to re-book the room. We had several rooms booked and occupied during this time. These guests went fishing on other parts of the river and at other locations, they had a wonderful time and left good reviews.

Great location and very clean room. Robert the general manager was very helpful before and during our stay. Stayed 2 nights before heading up to Denali. The only issue was we had an end unit and the WiFi was a little spotty. Had to walk outside once in a while to re-establish the connection, which wasn't very difficult to walk outside in Alaska in July.

After driving so long we came to this hotel in Cooper Landing I expected to find a Village, instead there were a few houses, two good restaurants It was so relaxing and familiar to stay there. The owner was so kind and talkative explaining us about the area. He suggested to go the same evening to the Denay River to see the salmon fishing which was fantastic, I will show my son when I come back to Italy, who has always been fond of fishing since a child. I was scared of bears because there are notices everywhere but I would have like to see one in such natural environment. He showed us a video of the bear in that Place that I would like to show to my sons I will tell my friend who like fishing to go there I was so enthusistic of that nature!! Quiet, calm, relax everying you need when you live in a town I hope to come back
