I liked the affordability of the accommodation and my expectations were met for the room and living areas. The manager did her job to pick us up at the airport and give us information we needed and more. I enjoyed the people I met staying here very much. I was annoyed that the manager would sit in the office adjoined...

Thank you for your honesty, with at least the first 2 sentences of your review. I am surprised you are still annoyed after all this time, as yes I did say we do refund your money. However, like the "Checkout Checklist" in all the rooms state, "We do charge a 1 night cancellation fee if you wish to cut your...

Staying at the backpackers was a fun time, I was one of the lucky ones Tisa actually picked up at the airport ;-) I booked in for the dorm and got a twin room, which I first shared with a guy and then with a girl. The facilities could do with a makeover, but when I was there there was...

Thank you for your awesome and honest review. I'm glad you enjoyed your time with us and good news, we got some new burners in the kitchen. We're currently, slowly renovating here and there, it's actually coming along quite well, island time, but still coming along. The ping pong balls keep disappearing, but we got a new dart board. We've...

I spend about 12 days there. It was nice and simple with everything you need. A bed, a small cozy room (even dorm, only 2 or 3 people max), hot showers and kitchen. You have free transfer from the airport arriving from an international flight. You have a small shop close to the hostel, a bike and scooter hire and...

Thank you for your honest and sweet review, glad you enjoyed the island life, simple. I know it can be a hassle when your rooms are close to the common area, we do try and remind everyone to keep their voices down, but I know. Good news on that front though, when we finished renovating the common areas, we're going...

If you expect a Hilton, you will be disappointed but then it will be only better. The owner, Tisa, will pick you up from the airport and will tell you stories about the island. She is very helpful, always there for you.The hostel is pretty basic but it is very well located, clean, walls and toilets are freshly painted and...

This is a good hostel if you are happy with the basics. We booked two nights initially and ended up booking for the rest of our stay here. It is decent for the price. We had a twin room which had 2 beds and a shared cupboard & fan, not much else needed when you are a budget traveller on...

Awesome review, thank you. I had to laugh when I saw you originally booked 2 nights, that's going back when Hostelbookers were giving me a headache by always changing my minimum stay! I'm glad you enjoyed your time with us. Much love from the islands xx

Just a short one. If you are on your solo trip to Raro, this place will make you happy during the whole stay in Rarotonga. 1.Cheap; 2. Just spent a week in Rarotonga and went for the cheapest accommodation I could find, since I'm travelling on a budget. Was not disappointed. I got picked up from the airport for free by Tisa, who was chatty and friendly, and drove us straight to the hostel so we could settle in. Because it's quite a small place everyone was...

I visited Rarotonga for the first time this year, so decided to stay in a few different places so I wouldnt be stuck in one if it wasnt to my taste. International Backpackers was my least favourite. I enjoyed the gardens and pool and clean kitchen at Tiare Village, I enjoyed the good value of my own space at Kiikii...

Thank you for your honest response and thank you for acknowledging the hostel was cleaned daily. True there is no hot water in the kitchen, but we have working kettles if hotwater is needed and more importantly, dishwashing liquid. There are four toilets in the hostel which are filled twice a day. As for the bathroom lights, we had to...

I stayed there in my first week on Rarotonga. Backpackers International is probably the cheapest on the island so don't expect to get the nicest and cleanest ever seen... but you get waht you pay for: A room, a bed, a kitchen, TV... all a few minutes stroll away from the beach, a dairy, dive shop, scooter and bike hire......

Thank you for your honest review. The hostel is cleaned once a day and guests are asked to keep it clean and not to leave their mess for someone else to clean up. This is basically being considerate of everyone else staying here. We are a backpackers, so like all the backpackers on the island, it is up to you...
