First things first, there were some good memories of our trip to Sapa. The lounge / dining car on the Victoria Express is attractive and a pleasant place to have a drink; whilst the buildings of the Sapa Victoria Hotel are very interesting. Sadly, the rest of the experience was not so memorable. The train is a relatively pricey option...

We didn't stay here, but came in for a drink. The cocktails were awesome - the best I had in the whole of my time in Vietnam and that is saying a lot, as the cocktails are excellent all around Vietnam generally! The hotel has a lovely garden that you can sit in with your cocktail, which we did, despite...

Supposedly the best place in Sapa (perhaps until the new mega-hotel we saw under construction is completed). Room, view, pool, spa, breakfast and staff were all great, no complaints. Much as I love Vietnamese food, I was very happy to see fondue savoyarde on the menu, just the thing for after a long day of mountain trekking. Felt very relaxed...

After the train trip with Victoria Express (wonderful new year's eve experience), we arrived in Sapa in this charming hotel. All christmas lights were still on. We had a great view from our room. Though quite busy with so many customers when we arrived, staff were friendly. We also tried the spa and it was worth the price. Loud music...

Going back in time with beautiful service, care and attention. It is at the top end but thoroughly worth it. It has sweeping views down the valley and up to the mountains and it is in easy walking distance of the delights of the charming town. Could easily have stayed longer and would love to return one day.

The Victoria Sapa Resort and Spa is perhaps Sapa's best and would have gotten 5 stars but for the fact the hotel was constructed without adequate heat. Apparently, the architects did not anticipate the very cold winters (cold for Sapa) recently. Last year there was snow at times in the winter months. This year when I stayed at the hotel...

The Victoria is nice hotel that sits on a hill overlooking the main Sapa town.
