In October, my husband and I spent 12 days in Turkey with a stop in Datca, not a place to miss! We got lost on a side street and as Mr. Simsek, the owner, smiled and handed us a menu his friend. The menu was all in Turkish and as luck would have it, his friend Haluk from the UK and also Turkish,came to the rescue and interpreted the description of the dishes. If you are looking for genuine homestyle cooking with flavours that you only dream about, look no further!
A solid guarantee from Haluk, that we would not find better food anywhere in Turkey, we sat down at the little table outside and relied on his menu selections. With Aynur"s wife, Halit in the kitchen, we were in great hands. For starters we had Borek, hot little cigar tube pastries filled with cheese along with Dolmas and a spicy tomato sauce. Next came delicious kebabs, meat balls and Ezme a flavourful salad of finely chopped tomatos, onions and herbs. As we savoured the wonderful flavours, Halit the owner...
