We really enjoyed our 2 nights at the Alpine Motel & Lodge, Ohakune. Scott & his wife were helpful, friendly & very obliging & made us feel 'right at home'! We enjoyed 2 scenic & exhilarating cycle trails, walks around town by the river, which had the clearest water ever! We fully recommend a getaway to Ohakune. Staying here also...

Only stayed here 1 night. We had a room with a kitchenette & seperate bedroom & bathroom. Lots of space but rooms need a deep clean, few cobwebs & dust around, dirty cutlery. Staff were friendly & they do have an on site washing machine & dryer which was handy. The location is very good.

We stayed one night in the townhouse of the Alpine Motel. There were 9 of us and the setup was perfect for our group. Big lounge/ kitchen area with plenty of couches to sit around and socialise. The bedrooms and beds were good size. They locked our bikes in the big shed attached which was great for peace of mind....

We were an adult, extended family group and had the 5 room chalet with a room each and plenty of living space for all of us. Tidy enough and two bathrooms. Large style kitchen and a little private court yard out the front.

We spent a relaxed and pleasant 2 nights here with very welcoming hosts. A basic but well cooked and presented breakfast was included in our deal. The room was clean and fresh although not really equipped for a longer stay, good off street parking and handy to town. We would stay again.

I would highly recommend staying at the Alpine Motel and Lodge. The room was excellent and away from the street, so nice and quiet. The room was comfortable and relaxing and would stay again without any hesitation. I also enjoyed the high quality food at the Lemongrass Restaurant that is attached to the Alpine.

We stayed here for a couple of nights, can't say anything negative. Free spa pool from 3pm and Laundry facilities with washing machine and dryer. The rooms were very clean with everything we needed, fully equipped kitchen with teas/coffees/hot chocolate and milks! Dara and Scott- the owners were more than helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The onsite restaurant was...

Budget Backpackers clean , but lacking in many ways no power plugs to charge phone, no pots to cook food ,no oven only microwave to cook food in backpackers mixed bathroom. Payment taken out twice on visa was refunded on request. Motel units cook but pricey.

This regards the backpacker accomodation: paper-thin walls, only 1 power outlet used by heater, wall beside bed was soaking wet on the inside from a leak probably, overflowing rubbish bin and 1 kitchen table for about 20 rooms. Overpriced and well below par with other backpackers.
