Budget Backpackers clean , but lacking in many ways no power plugs to charge phone, no pots to cook food ,no oven only microwave to cook food in backpackers mixed bathroom. Payment taken out twice on visa was refunded on request. Motel units cook but pricey.

This regards the backpacker accomodation: paper-thin walls, only 1 power outlet used by heater, wall beside bed was soaking wet on the inside from a leak probably, overflowing rubbish bin and 1 kitchen table for about 20 rooms. Overpriced and well below par with other backpackers.

Stayed here multiple times with friends for the odd weekend snowboarding. After staying in most places around ohakune, the alpine motel is our go-to place to book, the spa is amazing after a hard day on the hill, or if the mountain is closed! Everything is always clean and comfortable, electric blankets, great bathrooms facilities, everything you need in the...

I was disappointed by my stay here. My family and I stayed in a self contained two bedroom apartment at the New World end of the property for four nights. It was adequate, but there were so may disappointments that it is hard to be enthusiastic. This accommodation would suit a bunch of mates who were using it as a...

We were a group of four couples staying at the lodge joined by one other couple staying locally, for the purpose of cycling The Old Coach Road cycleway from Ohakune to Horopito and return. The rooms were very tidy and clean, but the best part was the blasting hot showers. When we arrived around 10.00pm it was freezing cold outside,...

Recently we spent two nights at this motel and stayed in the studio accommodation. We found the room clean and the bed very comfortable. It was great to have the kitchen facilities. We arrived late in the evening and found the hosts Scott and Dara had left the heater on which was lovely as it was a very cold night....

I've had the chance to stay at the Alpine on a year-long trip to NZ and it was definitely a lovely place to stay at - be it during the busy winter season or the slower summer season. The hosts, Scott and Dara, will go out of their way to make you feel the most welcome and to cater to...

Alpine motel was ok....a bit noisy and the room we stayed in needed a wee bit of TLC. Things like the door lock being quite loose and sticky, squeeky door hinges etc. We did find that we could hear lots of distracting toilet type noises from the room next door. Not that our neighbors had particularly noisy toilet habits, I...

Have stayed in the backpackers here twice now, first time better than the last. Clean and tidy but small. The social area of the backpackers is tiny. Location however is great - right in centre of town. The bunk bed I had was extremely wobbly and the ladder to get up wasn't accessible due to the curve of the ceiling.

We stayed for a night in the two bedroom chalet on the back of the property. We paid $204 for four adults. The chalet appears to sleep 7 comfortably. It is a 2 story unit of Lockwood construction, with timber ceiling and walls. Downstairs is the lounge (including 2 single beds), kitchen, bathroom with shower, and separate toilet. The kitchen...
