A great hotel in every respect. Lots of greenery everywhere and very clean. The receptionist was very nice and helpful, we got a beautiful room with a view of the sea and swimming pools. The main restaurant served very tasty and varied food. We were served by the waiter Ashraf - a very nice, communicative guy who also spoke Polish. Very good drinks. Lots of attractions throughout the day. Beautiful views, wonderful sunrises. We had a wonderful holiday.

We went here with a large group of friends and family. It was a holiday to remember. From day 1 - we had Ahmed’s undivided attention on our very large and loud table :) - he’s simply the best waiter. Zeka was amazing with his personable nature and friendliness. He made us feel at ease and was honestly too good with his entertainment acts and themes on a daily basis. The rooms were amazing .. from room service, to house keeping - this resort is really good. We will definitely return here … my kids enjoyed their stay thoroughly and definitely want to visit again. Thanks Gemma Resort and team. You are wonderful.

We visited Gemma resort in a group of 8 families, and we had a great time in the resort. Why to visit Gemma: 1. Spacious big rooms with very comfortable bed, excellent hygiene maintenance and superb bathroom toiletries provided. 2. Ample number of pools and sun beds - each block of flat have a separate pool along with one big main pool, that is sufficient for the number of people the resort can cater for. 3. Excellent food - the pasta was delicious. There is a reason you've so many Italians coming there year after year! Rest of the food was well prepared, flavoursome and had good variety of dishes throughout. 4. Service - Entire hotel staff was very friendly, and was eager to help whenever we had minor issues. They were very much on the job. 5. Vicinity to the sea - well, the sea is just right there!! and to top it all, you could just walk to the corals.. for those who do not wish to swim or can't. The water is clean and well maintained. 6. Drinks - the beer offered there is top notch and can't fault the wine either. The house wine served in the restaurants is great, and the experience from the waiter, remembering everyone's preferences, in a group of 28 was amazing. 7. Massage - The prices are really good and massage is just amazing. Would highly recommend. If you're thinking why did I not give it a perfect 5, if it is so great then keep reading 1. Drinks limitation - Wine is available only in the restaurant else you've to shelve out money €5 per glass! that's excessive for a house wine. So if you want to enjoy a glass of wine, or anything other than a beer, it is charged at that rate. It just doesn't feel right, who carries money within the resort. 2. Limit on food - My son only wanted Pizza and if you go to Pizza counter, they limit it to 3 pieces per person per visit. So when my entire entourage is eating in the restaurant, I'd to walk twice to get enough pizza for him, in blazing hot sun at 1.30 pm. It is just ridiculous. 3. Coffee/Drinks/snacks unavailable throughout the resort - the way resort is built is in a rectangle. We were placed towards the end, where it was great we were close to children's pool but not so great that we had to walk 10 minutes in that heat to get drinks. and again were limited to 2 drinks per person, in tiny paper cups. It just spoiled our mood every single day. There is no snack available other than at main pool area which is at least 10 minutes walk from children's pool area. They should put snacks and drinks corners near every set of pools. 4. Outdated rooms - there was just one plug point. in the digital age, where there is a barrage of devices, we need more charging points. 5. Speciality restaurant not good enough - we booked Lebanese restaurant, and we just did not like the experience. the food was not good enough, and the waiters were just not up to the mark. We know we were a big group however we had informed this ahead of time. Some of us didn't get our drinks even by the end of the dinner, and we got curt replies when we asked for update on our individual orders, like "I am just one person"! yes but that's not our problem, rest of the food is getting cold. 6. Location - This resort is 3.5-4 hours, away from the Hurghada airport and after a long flight, this additional journey becomes real pain, specially because there is NO STOPPAGE possible, there are no restrooms along the way!! 7. Entertainment - limited repetitive entertainment and it is just their internal teams who are in charge of it. including kids entertainment. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and had a great time. …

We have stayed here for two weeks in late August / early September 2023. This review is from the point of view of non-Italian guest, so bear that in mind. We arrived very early in the morning, before 4am and the check-in was without any problems. Hotel staff has showed us the main area and pointed towards the building no. 6 where our room was located. After we found our room, nice complimentary snack was already prepared inside (breads, vegetables, ham a cheese plate). The same hotel worker arrived with our luggage about five minutes later. Room was quite spacious. We were given the family room with a master bedroom with king sized bed and a secondary double bedroom with two twin beds. Since it was only two of us, second bedroom did not see much use. Beds are comfortable, enough of storage space for clothes, but strangely no drawers on bedside tables. What I found a little strange was the lack of electrical sockets in the room. I had none at my side of bed and remaining three had two table lamps already plugged in. However, there was no ceiling light, only those table lamps so we could not just unplug them. Later, the room got really dark because of it. Secondary bedroom had ceiling lights. Bathroom was sufficient with one big sink, separate toilet and shower. Amenities included shower gels, shampoos, body lotion and soaps. Towels were changed daily at first but then I noticed they just got folded back instead of replaced. I would not mind it for two or three days but it should not go for longer and certainly not with a bathroom mat which got stained but not changed. Food in the hotel was very tasty when it comes to the Egyptian standard. Plenty to choose from at breakfast (I especially liked their sweet pastry selection). Lunches were kind of similar every day with a slight twist. Most of the dishes were fish, beef or vegetables with an addition of pasta being prepared on the go. Dinners were similar with some thematic options once in a while (Italian, oriental etc.) There were grilling stations in front of the main restaurant with various fish and meats and also melons and other fruits. We have tried the a ‘la carte restaurants once per stay. The "Alladino" restaurant with set menu featuring the oriental meals was very tasty. Same with "La Mia Africa" where you can choose from the actual menu (I would encourage a little bit of seasoning though). Meals were nice and included in the all-inclusive program. There are a few bars in the hotel. We mostly used the “Maia” bar, located near the central waterfall pool. The bartender there (Baskota) was very nice and friendly. In the evening there were the themed shows at the “Club House”, such as Miss Hotel, fire show etc. Since we do not participate in animation activities very often, it did not bother me that the central pool was left out of them. The beach pool is the main facility when it comes to these events and I have seen crowds of people enjoying them. This pool is also more occupied so if you want a little peace and quiet, try other pools or a beach. The beach is really nice because there are no other resorts nearby which gives you the serene feeling. Main beach contains lots of loungers and parasols with a bar on top of a small hill. Then there are two more locations further down the beach ending in what appeared to be the Bedouin tent. These beaches are a bit more distant to the bar so unless you pack your drinks or do not mind the walk, be prepared. There is a wi-fi everywhere for those who need it and staff tries to be helpful when approached. One downside could be the number of sunbeds. When we arrived at the end of August, the hotel was really packed and it was hard to find a spot. After couple of days some guests must have checked out and it immediately felt more relaxing, not only by the water but also during meal times. Since this is a buffet style resort, some queues can get pretty long during peak hours. All in all it was a relaxing stay which I would be glad to repeat some day. …

I will start with ONE bad thing about the hotel. All people that AREN'T from Italy watch out with choosing this hotel. Almost everyone here speaks Italian, the strongest animation is Italian too. There is also animation in English, but it's not very well done. Basically said Italian hotel in Egypt. Otherwise, everything perfect, I was here with my friend we are both from Slovakia, truly enjoyed our stay even tho we missed a lot due to not understanding anything. However, would recommend :) Friendly and very nice staff, the beach, rooms, pools all perfect (food too a lot to pick from)

From the moment you enter, you can feel the outstanding atmosphere in the hotel. Check in was quick and efficient. We didn't spend much time in the room (as that was just a weekend stay) but it was clean with well working air conditioning. But we loved the grooming kit - even the toothbrushes, not very common in Egyptian hotels. Pools, beach and entertainment. We couldn't get bored, there was always something going on in the main pool (super animation), a beautiful, clean beach with a nice descent to the sea, all in all, even shoes are unnecessary. Food and drinks, ohh I loved the pizza and pasta. The variety is not amazing, but all the food we tried was nice, fresh and tasty. Only 1 minus is the water dispenser at the pool area, water there is never cold - and the coffee machine which is not clean properly what gives a negative effect for the coffee test in the end. But this is small things easily to improve. If we will be planning the weekend in Marsa Alam again, surely we will choose Gemma again. Thank you!…

The hotel has a very well balanced atmosphere (a mix of arabic and continental) the location is perfect the rooms are spacious and clean. You can always find something new on the menu from day to day. The staff is absolutely kind and helpful especially Hazem at the reception. ☺️ Highly recommended.

It is a very nice place to spend not only quiet holiday.Everything is clean,excelent food and a helpful staff every time of day. Beautiful sea and a lot of pools and bars. You can just relax or take part in many sports. You can buy everything you forgot or need and of course nice small souvenirs just by beach for nice prices too. Kiko or Salamon can make it just for you.

Amazing day at the Gemma beach in Marsa Alam, great hotel with amazing staff, rooms are excellent furniture, the hotel has it’s charming. You feel at home, very warm welcome by Mr. Mahmoud and his team at the reception, clean and tidy room, great location for the room, a lot of pools and amazing sandy beach with coral and very good marine life. Very well organization and service by Mr. Mohamed and his team at the restaurant, great food selection. Thanks for the hotel manager & Mr. Ali for the great time. Definitely will see you again soon.
