Our recent stay at the Alaskan Sourdough Lodge in Wranell, Alaska was truly a fine experience! Bruce and his wife not only run a clean, first class operation, but they truly make you feel like one of the family. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and leads to pleasant discussions with other visitors and staff over an early morning cup...

Wrangell was the last town on our Alaska vacation itinerary. We definitely saved the best for last. The Sourdough Lodge, ran by Bruce and Darlene, was exactly what we needed. Huge comfortable rooms with huge comfortable beds. Many choices for the continental breakfast of good every day food. Yogurt, toast, cereal, banana's....all good food. They serve dinner nightly for an...

We stayed at Bruce's Sourdough Lodge a few weeks ago while in Wrangell to visit the bear observatory. The Lodge is effectively one of just two decent places to stay in this town, and this is by far the more interesting. It is set a few blocks away from the "downtown" of Wrangell, and it is an easy walk from...

We visited Wrangell for photography and worked with a guide daily. The upstairs room we had was huge, very clean, had a brand new bathroom with a two shower head shower and three beds. Drawbacks were no curtain on windows near vaulted ceiling so when sunrise occurred it was like being inside a bright, white box at 5 am. Bring...

We could not have dreamed of a better start to our 3 weeks tour- and it is all because if Bruce and Darlene who were like a family for us and their lodge that brings together unique people. The room we got was clean. Very small, had only basic things in it and in the shower there was only soap....

This was my first time in Alaska and I'd like to thank Bruce and Darlene for an amazing experience at the Sourdough Lodge in Wrangell AK. Myself, my dad and a family friend spent three nights and four days staying at the lodge. The lodge itself was spacious, inviting and spotless. The food was amazing. The owners / hosts rolled...

I only stayed here for a couple of nights but would pick this place again if here on a short trip. The atmosphere is what I like the best. My room was very large, clean andcomfortable. If you are like me and would rather not hang out in your hotel room, there is a large common area with a variety...

We stayed for three nights. Bruce and Darlene Harding (owners & hosts) are great. One of our tours (Stikine River) was cancelled at the last minute and Bruce had gone out of his way to arrange another tour (LeConte Glacier). The place is quite, at the edge of town, about a mile from city center. Bruce and Darlene picked us...

We were amazed to see not only the sheets being washed, but the mattress covers and quilts upon every departure. You can't be guaranteed that in a 5-Star Hotel! Dar and Bruce make you feel like family, if you're willing to leave your "city attitude" back in the City (we witnessed a few snooty guests). It was truly amazing to...

Dar and Bruce make you feel right at home at their camp for fisherman. It's clean, and serviceable and they are always available to pick you up or drive you to wherever you need to be. We loved the barca lounger and plop-down sofa right in front of the big tv
