Hermanus is renowned for its whale watching it had its own natural bay where the southern whale go to mate and one of top places to visit during whale spotting season.
The sands is in a beautiful location next to the coast where maybe you would see passing whales if your lucky. Both lovely locations but if you want to guarantee to see whales then it is Hermanus between July and November.
