Fantastic location within walking distance to shopping, dining and entertainment; paired with comfortable and tasteful rooms as well as lovely hosts (Janine and Mike Hobbs)=an experience to be desired by anyone traveling in Johannesberg.

Once you get inside the gates of Cotswold Gardens, it is hard to believe that you are in the middle of a large city. The gardens are just lovely and it is a real pleasure to just chill out and watch the many birds that visit. Inside is just as good with very comfortable rooms and Mathias' breakfasts are just...

The beautiful gardens, the well appointed and comfortable rooms, the excellent breakfasts and the warm hospitality of owners Janine and Mike Hobbs make Cotswold Gardens a place to come back to year after year. A short, safe walk to the Rosebank African Craft Market is a definite plus. A wide variety of restaurants close by as well as a booklet...

I go to Johannesburg fairly often for business and try different guesthouses almost each time! My criteria are pretty straightforward in that I am looking for a nicely decorated self-catering unit that is clean, safe and totally quiet, with the owners living on the premises. Cotswold Gardens definitely matched my expectations and Jeanine was extremely pleasant and professional to deal...

I have stayed at a number of very good guesthouses/B & B's in Johannesburg and all offer spacious rooms, pleasing properties, appetizing breakfasts etc. Cotswold Gardens is conveniently situated and is up to the same standard as its accomplished competitors at the top of the Johannesburg scene. Where it really distinguishes itself is in the level of service which is...

We elected to spend four days in Johannesburg after a safari tour because the four-day wait cut air fare costs significantly. Knowing nothing about where to stay and very little about what to do, we turned to trip advisor. Cotswold Gardens was highly rated, so we chose to stay there for the four days. Long before our arrival, Janine provided...

If CG didn't exist, you would wish it did. We just completed our third month-long trip to SA, staying in guest houses almost exclusively, and CG takes the cake. In no particular order it is beautiful, safe, well located for business and tourism, comfortable beyond expectations. Most important, Jeanine Hobbs who runs it, and Mike, her husband, seem to know...

In May of 2012 my friend was going to take a month trip to visit South Africa with his parents. He was allowed to bring one of his friends along for the trip (so he wouldn't get bored, haha) and he chose me! I was so excited, this was going to be something that I would have perhaps never been...

I stayed at Cotswold Gardens in July 2013. Excellent location in Saxonwold, close to all major business and shopping areas in the Johannesburg northern suburbs. Wonderful rooms (fabulous art pieces) and very good service - better than most guest houses and even high end boutique hotels. The staff was helpful and attentive yet discreet. Janine and Mike were absolute gems...
