Didimala meaning "keep it secret" is exactly why I was interested in finding out more. We researched the website and to our amazement found it to be a winner in various categories, from Green Building to best Lodge acknowledged by Tshwane as recent as 2012. We have been staying at Didimala on-and-off since end of May 2014 with 2 more...

We visited this hotel in 2008 when it was still a 5 star rated establishment with excellent facilities, great food and super service. My husband booked a suprise weekend there in 2014 and what a huge disappointment! The place is rundown, fire equipment not serviced, leaks , average food. I understand the tourism grading is no longer valid. The few...

Fortunatley this is the first time we encountered such horrible hospitality. The lodge portrays 5 stars on their website, so we relied on this South Africa standard of the Tourism Grading Council, only to now find out the grading had expired. What we saw and experienced was not worth half a star. We felt very embarrassed as we had overseas...

Nice, but totally inexperienced and untrained personnel. It must have been a great place in the past, maybe under different management, but I this case the management just vanished... No Internet, no TV, bad game drive, flooded rooms, no sparkling water, biltong probably dating from the great trek, and so on and so on...

We wish someone could buy this place, and turn it into what it deserves to be. We were meant to stay over the weekend, and ended up staying 2 hours, and opting to take a 1.5 hour drive back home. There was no way we could spend the night there. We found 2 cockroaches and a spider in the bed....

What friendly service upon arriving at the lodge. A welcoming cup of tea/coffee whilst your luggage are being put away in your room. The rooms are very neat and well furnished. Personnel are on standby to satisfy guest requirements. It is a very beautiful complex and is situated close to Pretoria. With management sorted, this lodge can be one of...

Sometimes you feel irreverent by climbing onto a negative bandwagon, however in this case all the negatives are true and more. This is one of my greatest travel disappointments as the actual venue borders on utterly spectacular with enormous potential if managed properly. Your walk through the beautiful grounds to your room , leads you to believe that this will...

Didimala is in need of management, little to no service, no wine list, no game drive, not enough food for paying guests... its a shame as it is really a beautiful complex. There are other places in the area that are far better.
