We stayed for five consecutive nights in early March, and another night just before returning home. Barend and his wife Yvonne are wonderful hosts, always making you feel like a friend, and driving you around if you need to be driven around (something one shouldn't abuse). The office staff and the ladies who cook breakfast and do the rooms are...

We're experienced travelers who booked Brooklyn Place for two nights on the basis of its location and many rave reviews. As this was our first visit to Pretoria and the guesthouse owners were described as very helpful, we were disappointed to learn upon our arrival that they were out of town. The staff members we dealt with tried to assist...

My husband and I are so in love with this gorgeous Guesthouse and with the owners and staff. We were blessed to be able to be in Pretoria for a third visit and Barend, Yvonne, Sara and staff were again so welcoming. It is always such a pleasure to stay here! We would never wish to stay anywhere else whilst...

This guest house was selected for me when I visited the University of Pretoria on business in March 2014. I could not have chosen better! The colonial style house exhibits traditional decor and exudes a real sense of upmarket individuality. My room was spacious and the communal area was comfortable with fresh coffee available at all times of day. A...

Such an amazing guesthouse! I have travelled around South Africa and this is really a jem! I have stayed there three times and I would not consider any other guesthouse when staying in Pretoria. Barend and Yvonne + whole staff takes great care of their guests and I felt like a family member. Also my South African friends who visited...

Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Fresh mineral water is provided each day. everythin is neat and clean. Breakfasts are sumptous and very good....

I cannot explain how amazing this guest house is. What makes it unlike any other are the warm and welcoming staff. The house workers, Sarah, who runs the office, and the owners, Barney and Yvonne, welcomed me and made me feel right at home - while I was thousands of miles away from my own home. They are very friendly...

The Brooklyn Place Guest House is located on a quiet side street in the upper-class suburb of Brooklyn, Pretoria, about a 1 km walk from the main entrance to the University of Pretoria, a number of European embassies, and the Brooklyn Mall/Design Square shopping mall. It's also a short ride (about 70 rand by taxi) to the Hatfield commuter rail...

I really, really enjoyed staying at Brooklyn Place. The staff are so kind and caring, and are super efficient while taking the time to talk to you and see how you're doing. Yvonne and Barend bend over backwards to make your stay enjoyable, even hosting going-away braais for guests (and finding vegetarian dishes for those who don't appreciate big slabs...

We throughly enjoyed our 16 day stay at Brooklyn Place. Yvonne and Barend, the owners were so friendly and helpful that we felt like we were part of their family. The staff were very accommodating, prepared excellent breakfasts and always had tea and coffee available. Our room was very spacious with a roomy closet and en suite bathroom. The house...
