Stayed in the Michelangelo for a business trip to SA in Nov the Hotel and its staff were very nice and helpful service was attentive and friendly and the location by Sandon Mall is convenient. I have to say I was a dissappointed with the general cost of things as it was overproced to anywhere I have stayed in SA.... More

We stayed at the Michelangelo Hotel for one night following a safari. The property is lovely, though check in was somewhat disorganized. The rooms are nicely appointed and acceptable in size, especially for a short stay. I would caution you on their transportation department - we called down requesting a taxi and when we went out, the valet called over... More

This is a modern yet elegant hotel right in the heart of the Sandton City Shopping Mall. The room was large and very comfortable, and hotel service was friendly. Breakfast and dinner were excellent with a great choice and a la carte service if requested. Secure car parking is also provided, with vehicles locked in a cage in the underground... More

I only stayed one night here, but the rooms and bathrooms are large. Our room type was a Superior Room and had a balcony looking into Nelson Mandela Square. The hotel sits on the square entertainment district with a shopping mall and lots of restaurants.

I stayed in the Micheleangelo for over 1 year period. It was our base as we were making business in South Africa. A truly excellent experience, thoroughly recommended. I was visiting Johannesburg recently and although I was staying with friends, I went for diner at the hotel, excellent and graet service.

This is one of my favourite properties I have stayed in so far around the world. For me it tops the list with the Taj West End in Bangalore and the ITC Sonar properties. The service was perfect, the rooms were beautifully appointed in an Italian renaissance style complete with separate sitting rooms, lush beds, fluffy towels, and awesome TV.... More

After a week of backpacking in Cape Town and the Garden Route, I was ready for some pampering. Michelangelo did not disappoint. By US standards, this was a relatively cheap hotel for a large city, but with amazing facilities. The staff greeted me warmly, though I looked like a backpacking nightmare in weird shoes. They handled all my questions, booked... More

This is my husband's preferred hotel when he has business in Joburg and I wasn't disappointed. The room, bathroom and bed were all excellent. Laundry services, gym and breakfast were all perfect. The building itself, with its round central atrium is really lovely. The one thing that was a bit disappointing was the pool. It is beautiful, but round and... More

Let's start with the bad; super long waits at reception. Checking in takes ages and they need more signatures than I've ever seen before. Impressive central space but after a first take it does feel very gaudy. Rooms are ok and pretty large but they feel super busy as they are stashed with over the top furniture (Vegas style baby!)....
