at the diner table we had a lot of discussions with the hunters. food was good, especially the second day: impala. the lodge is nice, that a game drive was not possible, was rather disappointing. iMfolozi takes nearly a 1,5 h drive. regards schliek

We had our wedding here, with 17 staying at this hotel (capacity) and about the same number staying at a lodge nearby. It was really a great place. The food was probably the best part, we had two very different but both very good meals. I really liked the grounds, too. The owners and staff could not have been more... More

We chose this game lodge because of its small size and its close proximity to many of the parks, and were pleasantly surprised by its large offerings and idyllic setting. Sungulwane is situated in its own private game park which is loaded with buck, zebra, white rhino... we even saw a newborn giraffe! The scenery and sunsets were spectacular. The... More

Sungulwane Hills Game Lodge is situated in the foothills of the Ubombo mountain range, between the world renowned Hluhluwe-Umfolozi & Mkuze Reserves and on the western side of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park (a UNESCO World Heritage site). The lodge is nestled in a saddle of umbrella & black thorn trees and is surrounded by just over 1050 hectares of mixed savannah, making it ideal for the wide variety of fauna & flora found here.Sungulwane Hills offer guests exclusivity, peace & quiet. The Lodge currently has 7 chalets that are all en-suite (toilet, basin and shower) with air conditioning, tea & coffee bars and private patios. There are 3 x Double rooms, 2 x Twin rooms and 2 x Triple rooms. An extra bed can be added to the Triple rooms if needed. The main building has 2 beautiful lounges, a bar, a patio overlooking a waterhole and a dining room. Our big swimming pool is ideal to cool off in after the day's activities. On Sungulwane Game Ranch the activities we can provide to guests are morning drives, night drives and nature walks. Other activities in the area can be arranged, and include boat cruises around St Lucia or Jozini Dam, guided open vehicle game drives in Hluhluwe-Umfolozi, tribal dancing at a Zulu village, tiger fishing, beauty treatments and a host of sea-based activities including deep-sea fishing and scuba diving. Master or Visa cards are accepted and all extras will be added to your account, so you do not have to carry a lot of cash. A laundry service and limited fax & internet facilities are available at a minimal extra charge. Due to the presence of dangerous game, we do not allow anyone to walk or drive around unaccompanied.
