Camping at any spot made it the add-on fun as there are plenty of space. The personal are very friendly and helpful. I will surely be back next year! They even went out of their way to provide details on paragliding and weather each day.

We stayed at Fairy Knowes campsite out of desperation for lodging, as everywhere else in Wilderness was full. It was R480 for two nights of camping. The campsite was very full and we struggled to find a place to put a tent that would be protected from the rain that was coming, we ended up clearing a small area for...

All campers are informed that the entertainment area stays open until 1am. We are not a campsite, but a backpackers so the backpackers rules apply. Clear conditions of stay as well as info sheets are attached with every email booking and guests are again reminded of our rules upon arrival. Wilderness is a very popular destination, I suggest that if...

This was my third time at Fairy knowe. We usually stay in Tarrental but it was booked so we were put in the main house - Big mistake. It was appalling. very over crowded - way too many people using the same bathrooms and toilets which are filthy. Guests smoke inside the house and nobody cares even though it's not...

It seems that you are alone out there. Read our previous reviews; everyone else seems quite happy with the hostel. If it was such a huge issue, I am sure you would have told me about this. All linnen is taken off and washed every day, this is the reason we only use white linnen. (it shows blemishes) If you...

My bandmate/partner and I performed a show in Wilderness on 25 November and needed a spot to pitch tent for the night. We couldn't have chosen a better place! Beautiful secluded campsite, friendly service, well-stocked bar, clean and excellently appointed private ablution facilities. What more could you want? We even awoke to Loeries in the trees around us. Fantastic! We'll...

This place was awesome! Two friends and I stayed here for a few days during a road trip along the Garden Route. We had a blast. I'd recommend abseiling, canoeing (and then hiking some) to a nearby waterfall, and eating at any of the cute little restaurants in Wilderness. Although the food at Fairy Knowe is delicious! I'd love to...

We arrived late at Fairy Knowe backpackers but we still received a warm welcome. The staff made you feel very at is and was very helpful. The staff prepared another room for us to sleep in the Saturday night, seeing that the one we slept in was already booked for the Saturday night and we spoke to a gentleman at...

Such a cool backpackers to stay! They have a nice bar/hanging out area and rooms are super clean. Staff was very friendly and made sure everyone enjoyed their time here. The showers are not so big but it is above average for a backpackers.

This place is absolutely amazing. It's the perfect retreat from the city.Whether you want your privacy or you want to socialize, it's perfect. There are an array of activities to do. Canooing, hiking and climbing to name a few. (kayaks available to rent on site). You can also kayak to a waterfall about an hour away. It's just a stone's...

I stayed at the Fairy Knowe Backpackers in October for my friends bachelors weekend. Deedee (not sure of spelling) was the most amazing host. We all stayed up at the main house. The room was large and clean and the house has an old school charm but don't go expecting 5-stars. The communal kitchen has all the basics you need....
