Two daughters and I stayed at the Matumi Lodge for several nights while venturing off on many exciting, interesting safari adventures. The lodge seemed to orchestrate the events and transportation. The lodge itself was surprising lush with floral, plant life, an abundance of chirping birds, a nice sized pool to cool off in, and the rooms were comfortable and in...

We stayed during a friends wedding in the area. Overall first experience was ok, except for money disappearing close to arrival. At first I thought this could have been a coincidence. They were friendly and food ok. However, as the 3 night stay progressed, more and more of our friends "lost" items, ranging from ipad to clothes and entire wallet....

December 2015, not 2016 I'm just late posting this review, my wife, kids and I had the pleasure of staying at Matumi Lodge while on safari. We loved everything about it: our accommodations, the setting and most of all the people. We were treated so wonderful including the workers singing to us when we departed. It was a trip of...

We booked a budget safari and Matumi Lodge met our expectations. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with good mattresses on the beds. The choice of white duvets seemed kind of impractical for a safari lodge, but it turned out just fine. The food varied somewhat, with some of the meals being great, and some being average. There were pork...

The setting is fantastic. We went as part of an intrepid tour. Greeted on arrival but then no significant welcome atmosphere from management. The staff otherwise were fantastic. Bitten lots by Mosquitos and then found out all the other rooms were provided with mosquito nets when we asked staff for a net they said they had no extra nets and...

Matumi is a great place to stay if you are visiting Kruger National Park. The accommodation is excellent for a quiet bush setting. The staff are professional, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The meals are delicious and good South African food. Nellie, the owner, personally makes sure everything is ok. Thoroughly recommend Matumi.

Totally overhauled 2 yrs ago, this group of thatched roof bldgs was a true delight. Wonderful meals, clean & comfy rooms, hot water, A/C, huge pool & lanai, very reasonable drink prices, friendly staff, gardens, impalas jumping in & out of the property, Kruger Park pickups for mega animal viewing, and decent Wifi. Definitely worth considering.

Matumi Lodge what a beautiful place, thank you so much for an awesome weekend with my daughter and her friend. We stayed at Matumi Lodge because the accommodation we were originally booked into was full. It was the best thing that could have happened to us.
