Went to kruger park and went for lunch at letaba restcamp . What a terrible sight . A one man show cooka shop set up right in front of mug and bean ... in the middle of the lawn as you enter the main complex . Disgusting . That camp is going downhill . Who allows that ?Not to even...

Chalets old and tired for the price of accommodation but the surroundings are terrific, spotted lots of Hippo, elephant, crocodile and bok from the camp, lots of Duiker (small deer) wandering around the camp, day and night and quite approachable to take photo's, the place overlooks the Letaba river and has a Mug & Bean restaurant.

This is one of the more beautiful camps in Kruger. You'll see bushbuck and monitor lizards throughout the camp. It is well shaded by a range of stunning mature trees (including the giant sausage tree neat the M&B). The swimming pool is beautiful, a great spot to watch the woodlands kingfishers flying to and fro. On the other side of...

The camp has a great location on the Letaba river. Our units were well equipped and serviced efficiently during our 2 night stay. The swimming pool was welcome as it was quite hot. We had a great leopard sighting on the dirt road along the Letaba river. Female leopard walking along the road.

What a joy! I highly recommend to stay at Letaba as the staff are friendly and quiet and have their guests interest at heart! What a joy to find in contrast to Satara, clean public toilets and beautiful manicured lawns and sparkly clean bungalows!!

Lower Sabie was the most disappointing camp we visited in Kruger Park (we were in Letaba, Skukuza and Lower Sabie). The room smelled and was only superficially cleaned especially with a dirty sticky fridge. The communal bathrooms were full of sand and mud on the floor. The restaurant (mugg and bean) is nothing special. The staff was unfriendly. We would...

We love to visit Kruger whenever we are in South Africa. Foir animal sightings it really never disappoints. On this trip we witnessed (off a main road totally unexpectedly) a leopard kill as well as all of the other big 5. We always tell ourselves that you don't stay in the park for the accommodation but for the easy and...

A group of 7 of us went to Kruger and one of the evenings we stayed in the Letaba Safari tents. We booked two but were close to each other so was perfect for Braai that evening. Really good value, comfortable stay. The electricity went in our one but I will admit the staff acted quickly and got a maintenance...

As always Letaba is a very nice camp to stay in. However, the tents could use a bit of a mending and showed clear signs of aging. On the negative surprise received upon arrival the "sarcasm" and "condescending attitude " from a young lady at reception was not called for nor needed upon check in. The brochures received from your...

We got one of the huts right on the river, and the views were great. WE could hear a hippo close by (we had just seen a tone of them a few kilometers up the road), but we couldn't see it. However, at breakfast at the Mugg and Bean, we watched one climbing in and out of the water just...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The idyllic Letaba Rest Camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the Kruger National Park. The name means "river of sand", and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld, and remains a firm favourite with visitors. At night the stars overlook a symphony of sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets and cicadas all vie to be heard, until the lion roars, then all are silent. ... more   less
