Although in view of the industry of Malelane town across the river we turned our backs on that and at night it was beautiful looking into the bush at ellies passing by next to the fence. Only 2 campsites have good shade but during the day it was easy enough to go to the trees and shade overlooking the river...

Although it took a long exchange of emails to book it through the website of San parks, it was worth it. Air conditioning was specially appreciated. The bungalows we stayed managed to host 4 people each in the same room. It felt like a hostel but everything was tidy, clean and organized. The location of the camp is great for...

Although familiar with the area, this is the first time I stayed at the satellite camp. Being a satellite camp you don't have access to a shop, restaurant or fuel at the camp but you can always drive to Berg-en-Dal to stock up if needed. Be prepared to book in at Malelane access gate so ensure enough time to deal...

What a Pleasant Campsite Overall, the campsite is very clean and so close to nature as we had the experience to see wildlife in and around the camp and also a hyena that visited us on the other side of the fence while we were having a braai at dawn (1 x meter away). Already booked again to go through...

Came with my parents. The chalets are clean, with a lovely view. However there isn't a restaurant… and the chalets don't have hot stoves or microwaves so you have to use the communal cooking area to heat up or cook your food. The chalets do have kettles, fridges and toasters, though. You do need to go to the gate to...

This hotel has a friendly atmosphere. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a little balcony or patio. You can park your car in front of the accommodation. The staff is quite efficient. There is no WIFI in the rooms which might be a bit problematic for the younger tourists, but at the same time, it helps to focus on...

We booked into the Kruger National Park at last minute in a busy season and it was the only available place. It is very close to Malelane gate and to the park border. The camp does not have many people that is very nice! Unfortunately you can see farms from the camp and hear the trucks travelling outside the camp...

Great location just inside the Malelane gate. Small camp, we stayed in one of the chalets which had four beds, a toilet with separate shower with plentiful hot water and fridge, kettle and cooking utensils. Seating area with barbecue outside. There are shared kitchen and bathroom facilities in the camp for campers and caravanners. About 10 minutes from Berg en...

With only 5 chalets and not many more camp sites, this camp is a hidden jewel! Although you can see signs of civilisation across the river from the camp, you DEFINITELY still get that authentic bush feeling. At night you are visited by hyenas and bush bucks and the air is filled with the hippo noises from the river. The...

We spent a weekend at the Malelane camp and truly enjoyed it. Had elephants passing along the fence. Near enough to bergendal if one needs anything from the shop. Electricity and ablution facilities up to date. During school holidays Bergendal is often packed, and this camp is a nice alternative.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Malelane Camp can be found where the rolling fields of sugar cane of the neighbouring farms and the majestic savannah of the Kruger National Park are separated by the powerful Crocodile River. The camp is unique because it is the only camp to be placed on a boundary, the southern border of the Kruger National Park. Malelane camp has the added benefit of being a very small camp, with fewer guests than found in the main camps, adding to a more intimate bush experience. Conveniently placed close to the Malelane Entrance Gate, the small town of Malelane and the N4 / Maputo Corridor, it offers classic Kruger self catering accommodation and camping facilities. ... more   less
