Our travel agent planned our first trip to South Africa, which included 4 nights at Singita Boulders then 4 nights at Lebombo. Excellent planning! The two lodges provide excellent safari and resort experiences whilst having interesting differences. The cliff side lodge at Lebombo provides a modern “nest” experience. The view from your bed is amazing, and while I was taking a bath, a monkey outside the window groomed itself, too - monkey see, monkey do! Many thanks to Ishmael and Given for amazing safaris - we saw lionesses with 7 baby cubs, mama cheetah with her 3 cubs, mama hyena with her 4 cubs, plus many more animals. Our guide and tracker had a great deal of information to share about the animals, their habits and environment. They know the concession well. The food was outstanding and we so appreciate the efforts to provide wine pairing with special dinners, and even a road trip to the other lodge to get a requested wine! We will always remember our time at Lebombo, and living under that big sky in Kruger Park. A trip of a lifetime!…
I spent 4 days at this resort and cannot say enough about it. The rooms are gorgeous and located near the water where you will see animals all through the day. The guides and trackers (the most amazing people ever) take you out early in the morning and then again in the afternoon where you will see wild animals of every kind, elephants, cheetahs, lion prides and even Rhino on a good day. The staff at the resort is unbelievable as well and they are involved in the conservation of the animals. They will also set up a bed outside on your terrace with a net so you can sleep under the stars, it was magical. I loved everything about this place and never wanted to leave. I highly recommend staying here.
We booked our Boulders/Lebombo 6 night combo directly with Singita and had excellent and prompt service from Petro Kilpin who also organised our flights with Fed Air from and back to Jo'burg as well as the short 20 min flight between the lodges. The interactive Itinerary submitted prior to our departure was superb. Petro also organised camera lens hire which was waiting on arrival. We were collected at the airstrip by our guide Ishmael and the trip back to the lodge was approx 40 min by car. Lebombo is totally different to Boulders. Lebombo Lodge is contemporary and super trendy throughout. The individual accommodation is smaller than Boulders, more like a mini suite than a suite. Everything is in one room with the bathroom area screened off but still open to the room. Unlike Boulders where there is a place for everything here everything is open suited to "living out of your holdall" rather than unpack. There is a hanging rail though and some drawers. The room is by no means small and it is totally comfortable. The decking has a bed/mattress with mozi net and chairs and table but no plunge pool. The main lodge is large with a wonderful heated pool - actually 2 pools - that more than makes up for the lack of individual plunge pools. Here at least you can swim. All areas are super stylish and there is a wonderful "crows nest" with tremendous views. Again the media room is an excellent facility to view and edit photos. The food is fantastic and it is well worth visiting the cookery school. Service is very friendly and professional and we were well looked after by our butler Bongi. Daniel Zents' commitment, energi and level of interest in his guests was exceptional and his approach cascaded through the team resulting in a truly memorable stay. Our guide Ishmael and tracker Given were fabulous and very good company. We saw elephants, lions, rhinos, hippos, chitas, giraffes, zebras, big herds of buffalo, impala, baboons, crocodiles and plenty of lovely birds and some stunning scenery. The terrain here is much more rocky and mountainous than Boulders and off road driving is more challenging. The use of Toyota Land Cruisers rather than Landrover Defender vehicles is in my book a negative. The Toyotas had 3x3 seats rather than 2x3 plus a box in the centre for securing/storing equipment. The provision of a box to secure extra equipment whilst driving is essential, so ensure you make Singita aware if you carry expensive camera equipment. They can remove the centre seats and install a box. The Toyota is also very sensitive to people moving which is annoying when you are photographing. Luckily we were just the two of us in the jeep. Whilst staying we also went across to Sweni Lodge for a drink, again lovely design and a beautiful setting right on the river. It is interesting to see the different designs and ambiences of the lodges which all have their distinct identity. The shop and gallery is definitely worth a visit. It stocks a large range of home ware and accessories as well as clothing and jewellery. We left as happy customers and can't recommend highly enough. Loved every minute and hope to return to a Singita Lodge sometime in the future.…
My family and I just returned from a 3 nights at Ebony/3 nights at Lebombo which is exactly what my husband and I did when we enjoyed Singita on our honeymoon over a decade ago. The service, food, accommodations, every attention to detail to make your stay luxurious and carefree did not disappoint. We returned this time with our two children so it was truly special to share what is undoubtedly our favorite place in the world. They nor did we want to leave. We were touched by their remembrance of our anniversary and also my mentioning my daughter’s birthday just prior to our arrival. They arranged for a special celebration for us which we truly appreciate. The staff is so attentive and kind, you feel as if you’re the only guests at the lodge. Garry, our guide and Solly, our tracker were amazing from whom we learned so much about the animals and environment. Thank you Singita for a memorable holiday. …
If you visit this resort, you will feel as I do, that it is one of the finest you will ever experience world-wide! Jerrod and his staff presented us with a GIFT, their incredible service and hospitality! It was an amazing experience with the finest accommodations, service and food we could have ever imagined in the wilds of Africa! There are not words GRAND enough to describe every aspect of the stay at this resort. One highlight for sure were our ranger and tracker for our safari trips into the field. Ismael and Given were two of the best trackers and field guides. They found animals in extreme places and put us up close with every animal in the Big 5. In fact, in one morning we spotted all of the Big 5 on a single drive!!! The next morning we viewed a wild dog den and saw the pack return with food for the pups. Unreal!!! Their service was impeccable. The lodge was one of the nicest villas we have ever stayed in. This place is a WONDERLAND. Do not miss it!!!…
