We have stayed at Satara before and saw more animals than anywhere else. This time however we were not as fortunate. However, the camp is clean and well run. Shop is well stocked. Roads are good. The S100 is usually a great place to see...More
This large, well established rest camp is positioned on a plain with no river frontage.

The two sleeper bungalows are arranged in large circles with grassed areas and trees in the middle of each circle. Satara is situated on a flat plain and therefore the views are not as good as in other rest camps and nor is it on a river. For this reason I'd not worry too much about which bungalow you hire. The main attraction is the predators in the area and I can highly recommend a morning walk in the veld with two rangers. A great experience!
