We stayed in one of the rondavels which was air-conditioned and in generally very good condition. I don't expect everything to be spotless etc as we are staying in the bush and appreciate the feel of that. We were supposedly in a spot with no river view - but in actuality it meant no river view with the sun setting...

Olifants is a tremendous camp in the Kruger Park. Rondawels are clean and well-presented. We stayed in a rondawel on the periimeter and that is a real treat. Sitting on your rondawel and watching herds of elephant cross the river is magnificent. Swimming pool provided a welcome respite from the heat.

We came from the south of Kruger park to this camp and were a little disappointed about the wild life. Even in the early mornings and after sunset there weren't many animals around. In the south of the park we saw so many interesting animals, but here we didn't unfortunately. The camp is ok, we stayed in a bungalow, which...

Love this place, our fourth visit, but I think it may be our last. Have never seen much game up this part of the park or further north.( I'm not just talking about the Big Stuff) The room was a good size and well equipped.

I just spent two nights at Olifants and I really enjoyed my visit. It's a beautiful location overlooking Olifant River. The surrounding area is full of sightings most of them made with our car. The accomodation is clean and really well presented. The rest camp has an excellent restaurant and a well stocked shop.

Olifants is a wonderful location which is why I rated it 5 stars. The views are spectacular and though we heard the game might not be as plentiful there, we still saw many animals. This is a bird watchers paradise. We saw so many and while we aren't fanatic bird watchers, we really enjoyed identifying all the many species. The...

We just spent 1 night at Olifants and enjoyed our visit. We were lucky enough to reserve a year in advance and snagged a perimeter room. Some rooms provide a great little fully-stocked kitchen including fridge, hot plate, cookware/dishes and braai. Pay attention when booking so you know if your room has a kitchen or not. If not, there are...

spent one day on trip to Kruger, wish I had booked two days as would have liked to have spent more time at this rest camp. Accomadation very good, clean and well presented, camp shop first rate. The camp is locked (as they all are) at 1800 and off to view game early next day gives little time to enjoy...

Olifants is a lovely rest camp with a slightly more luxurious feel than many of the others around Kruger. It's also even quieter in the evenings than many other rest camps, and in general is very peaceful. On both visits (Nov '14 and Aug '15) we stayed in a hut with bathroom but no kitchen which suits us fine. The...

Accommodation basic but more than adequate. But who cares about luxury accommodation when you can watch a hippopotamus search for dinner in the river as you anticipate yours? And of course the incredibly friendly and helpful staff you find in South Africa.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guests that visit Olifants will be exposed to an unforgettable window of Africa. The camp is situated a top a hill which towers several hundred feet over the Olifants river. Views from the lookout platforms allow one to see the river below, just as a soaring eagle would survey it, as it hunts from the skies. ... more   less
