We stayed at Shiluvari for one night after a trip in the Kruger National Park. The lodge is located on the edge of the Albasini Dam and is a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The room was large and well equipped and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and competent. The food was very...

Stayed at several self-catering or B&B places over the space of a week and this place was by far the most disappointing (and most expensive of the lot). As every other review states the staff are very friendly (this is true) but this place is definitely overrated and does not look at all like advertised on their website. We went...

We stayed at Shiluvari for a weekend on the way back from the Kruger. The staff were friendly and all meals were tasty, well presented and adequately proportioned. The room was comfortable and well equipped. We would highly recommend booking a trip with Samson Mulaudzi, a freelance bird guide, if you are keen on birding. The lodge packed a breakfast...

Arrived at the lodge, we seemed to be the only guests there, although they did say that there were some long stay residents who were working in the area. The Bar ran by Oscar, had no point of sale, so all drinks were written in a book, very dated! He however, was a star, as were the rest of the...

We stayed a long weekend at Shiluvari and it was fantastic. Betty and the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a half board option and the food was outstanding, from the delicious breakfast to the 3 course dinner with the best soup we've ever tasted. The lodge has a beautiful setting on the lake...

We spend one night at that lodge whilst visiting the area for a sporting event. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The evening meal was well prepared and well served. The accommodation was good and the location of the lodge beautiful on the banks of the dam. The lodge is to be recommended.

We needed a special place to stay after the chaos of the border at Beitbridge, and we found it! It is a really special place and the staff could not have been more friendly, the food was excellent and we will definitely return the next time we are brave enough to face the border crossing.

Shiluvari is a lodge on a lake 20km off the main road north from Johannesburg (N1). We used it to break up the drive to Northern Kruger (Pafuri area). While the general area is not worth visiting, the lodge is a wonderful surprise. Down a dirt track, you enter beautiful vegetation and a tranquil setting. There are both rooms and...

This lodge is incredibly beautiful aling the dam but our family unit needs some fixing up. The kitchenette has no hot water, a micowave in need of replacing, very limited utensils. The bath needs a new tap unit as it leaks constantly when not on and has resulted in wall damage. This family unit is also not kid friendly at...
