After not having visited for almost 2 years we were pleasantly surprised to see the Log Cabins had finally had some basic upgrades. The Cabin was comfortable, but basic. All-in-all we made the most of the experience & loved our stay. It's a good place to just get back to basics & leave the modern world behind for a few... More

The location of this campsite approximately 45 minutes drive out of St. Lucia town is second to none. The drive up to the camp is thrilling, beautiful green landscapes between the Indian ocean and the St Lucia estuary (we had earlier been in Kruger and Mkhuze parks which were parched dry). Wildlife spotting is great. We saw our first rhino... More

Given the beautiful surroundings, the camp is a big disappointment. The log cabins are dilapidated, with many of the doors (including our bathroom door) being unable to close properly. Given the huge pest problem with monkeys, this is a problem, because you will soon find your cabin trashed. Also, the water in the showers is a disgrace which stinks to... More

We were so excited about this holiday for such a long time that perhaps our expectations ran away with us. The place is indeed beautiful and the log cabins are well positioned and sheltered. I was pleasantly surprised by what St Lucia as a town had to offer. Sadly, it seems like the Cape Vidal Camp coffers have run dry.... More

Having read many reviews on Cape Vidal on this site, we were very skeptical to go. I am pleased to say that we had a wonderfull time. We stayed in the log cabins. Yes the water is brown and undrinkable and do not smell nice. Bottom line, come prepared - this is Africa and not for the faint hearted. We... More

Following our visit a year ago where fishing was great and our stay very enjoyable sadly I cannot say the same of this visit again. Although the chalets were in a fairly good condition one didn't have water and the the other chalets water were a bit "dodgy" - fortunately we brought water from St Lucia. But the Cape Vidal... Having stayed at a number of parks board venues within KZN, including this one about 8 years ago, we have a fairly good expectation of the standard that is delivered; however in this case we were sorely let down to such a degree that we cut our stay short. The log cabins have been poorly maintained and the daily cleaning... More

We camped in a roof-top tent with friends last week and had a blast amongst the coastal forest. The kids loved it here, the beach is a short walk away with a safe sheltered swimming area. Sitting round the fire at night was such a pleasure with good friends sharing stories of Africa and putting the world to rights. Some... More

If I had known this was, what I was letting myself into I never would have booked it. It is dirty and stinks. I am not going to even try and take a shower, I might come out worst than what I went in. Very disappointed that they advertise this as accommodation. I have absolutely nothing good to say about... More

We stayed here in a log cabin for one night. The rain was persistent sadly but did not Dampen our opinion of the location as we were there for the wildlife. The staff in the shop were rude and ignorant. Not willing to help us when we wanted drinking water, bread or beer.. The food available in the shop was... More
