Sitting outside the great villa looking out over the Atlantic is hard to beat. Good food and breakfast - even though some lead time for the eggs Benedictine ;-). Close to the intense town but so peaceful at the Retreat. Interior a bit older but that's really what the place is about.

Stunning views as you walk into reception, out onto the veranda and the Atlantic sea beyond. The main hotel is based in a lovely old building, with rooms in the main building and also lodge rooms across the garden which are modern and airy. It had such a lovely feel and ambiance ideal for a romantic get away. The grounds...

The service was friendly and no request was too much Gerhard was so helpful as was our maid Diana. The room was fabulous, the gardens amazing, the views stunning and the food wonderful. A really first class experience. There were two things which I felt could be improved on. Cape Town is windy and having to eat al fresco every...

We found this place to be a truly perfect start to an amazing trip in SA on our honeymoon. Loved our accommodation across the rope bridge, felt like we had a proper area of this paradise all to ourselves as it was so private. The beautiful golden retrievers just added to the experience as it felt so homely. The Manor...

We splashed out to stay here. It was nothing to write home about. A nice enough room, but in an unimpressive block over the bridge away from the historic house. The views were not exactly over the sandy sweep of camps bay but rather some boulders at one end. Took dinner in the hotel, pretty average. Breakfast OK - but...

My husband and I went on our first night in Cape Town for a Braai at the Camps Bay Retreat (due to a wonderful suggestion from our staff at the Bay Hotel) We were exhausted from our flight and didn't really want to make reservations for dinner that evening but they told us the Braai is only done on certain...

From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made a great choice. The staff where friendly and helpful, the rooms where beautiful and the view. The kitchen serves a good selection of dishes, with herbs and vegetables grown on the property. What I really loved about my stay was the feeling of being relaxed with almost a homely feeling....
