We were in doubt wether we wanted to stay in the city centre, or in Camps Bay... but boy, were we happy we decided to go for De Tafelberg Guesthouse! What a location, what an accomodation, what a view... We were upgraded to the renovated room upstairs, and it was just stunning. To top it all, the host was magnificent and so was breakfast! Look no further if you want to have a relaxed stay in Cape Town city centre and be sure to check out Liesbet's hotspots in Bree Street if you want to enjoy great food as well.

When you arrive, late at night, after a long flight , in a strange city, this is just the sort of place you want to be taken to. A delightful room, with a comfortable bed, a good shower and a spacious balcony - not to mention a couple of cold beers in the fridge. And when you wake up the following morning you look out of the window to find yourself right at the foot of Table Mountain, turn through 180 degrees and the whole of Cape Town is at your feet. How much better than this can it get? ....... well actually the breakfast helps. Like everything else it was a delight - from the decorative pieces in the fabulous breakfast room to the range of smellies in the bathroom all showed care and attention to detail. The hosts could not have been more helpful or attentive, sorting

Stayed here for 3 nights. Chris and Ann were lovely hosts. It was clean and beautifully styled. The breakfast was plentiful. Nothing was too much trouble. The views over capetown whilst you had breakfast were perfect. Its location was perfect, 5 minute drive from centre (15minute stroll) and 5/10 min drive to table mountain. Would definitely recommend!!

We came into Cape Town for the first 3 days with the sun shining and high expectations of our accommodation. We were not disappointed, a gorgeous v&a with stunning views over Cape Town. We can see table mountain from another window (just). It's in a affluent area of Cape Town. About 1 mile away from both cable cars to get you up table mountain. It's around 15 minutes drive to the V&A waterfront. Breakfast is excellent, and our hosts so accommodating and helpful. We would love to come back again.

What a welcoming place after the flight into cape town: on one side you have the unbeatable view over Capetown, on the other side you have an amazing view over Tablemountain: can you ask for more? Your hosts will do everything to make you feel welcome and at home, breakfast is so delicious and the rooms are beautifully decorated.

We stayed at this little gem for three nights and were not disappointed. The view down on Cape Town is beautiful and with the Table Mountain at the back it's quite a scenic place to stay. The rooms are lovely furnished and everything is clean and well maintained. And last but not least you have the best hosts you could wish for, super friendly and helpful.

Set on a steep and broad road in the mountainside suburb of Oranjezicht, De Tafelberg is far enough from town to be quiet (the road is a main road through the suburb but only gets a little busy at rush hour) and to have good views, especially of the mountain, even though rooms face the harbour. Yet it is only 10 minutes drive from the CBD. My room was not that large by SA standards and fairly low ceilinged, but the entrance hall cum closet, the pleasant en suite bathroom and the french doors opening to the pool terrace, including a dedicated outdoor seating area for each room, made it seem quite spacious. There was a good working desk and wifi. Decor is mixed - some a bit faded, some modern and artistic touches - but all in all comfortable and pleasant. Offstreet

What a find! De Tafelberg is a lovely, homely, guest house a two minute drive from Kloof street. There was secure parking for our car. Our room was comparatively big, beautifully and tastefully decorated with a private balcony. Everything was pristine, clean fluffy towels were in abundance, and the shower with all condiments, hot just when you needed it. The best part of the stay must be the balcony for breakfast. Look one way, and you can watch the business around the bay and waterfront, the other and you are on the slopes of table mountain. A stunning setting for breakfast and a quiet drink pre dinner. Ann and her husband were delightful and very knowledgeable suggesting restaurants or things to do in the area. I would recommend it to anyone, but location wise it will be
