If you dont want to be in the busy long street but still close to everything this is your hostel! It was a really nice and quiet atmospheare here. Our double room with ensuite was really nice and clean, and the bathroom was amazing, the best we have seen in a hostel!! Just loved the double shower. Cool and helpful...

I highyl recommend this hostel. The staff is very helpful, and has very good advices whether it comes to culture, or outdoors, or any other aspect of discovering CT and the penninsula. The rooms are cosy, the bathrooms clean. the hostel looks very nice, many wood elements in decoration, and a great view on the table mountain from the balcony.

A warm welcome, a lovely room and a good atmosphere. I highly recommend this hostel as everything about it was perfect and it represented great value. In particular the hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. It was a home from home and to have our own breakfast in the lovely private courtyard was a treat

Very pleasant place to stay in while in Cape Town. Stephen and Wayne were very friendly and helpful. What a nice view and great to relax looking out at Table Mountain or in the hammock. Free hot drinks and toast/jam, good value.

We stayed at the Amber Tree Lodge for one week in October 2013. What a little gem this place is! To mimic some of the comments on here it really is like staying at a friend's house. We booked a twin room with a private bathroom. Our room was just off the main house, accessed through the private, enclosed garden....

Had a fantastic time staying here! Mattresses and beds are so comfortable, free breakfast is great, Steve and Wayne are always there to help, and are so knowledgeable. Ideal location as you are a couple of minutes from Long street, and a cba to the waterfront is 40 rand ($4!) Perfect place!

I stayed here for 4 days. Never have I slept better. I don't know what mattresses they have but they are like heaven. I stayed in the dorms and was lucky to have some great roommates. Stephen and Wayne are amazing at what they do. They're always there to help you with anything you need, whether it be directions, restaurant...

I stayed at the Amber Tree Lodge for 10 days. I came to Cape Town without a plan and ended up just staying there. Nothing more to add to all the other reviews - Stephen and Wayne are amazing, it is a great place in a beautiful and safe neighbourhood for good money. I am coming back to CPT in...

“The twin room with courtyard view is nice and quiet, opens onto the tranquil courtyard and the living room is just on the other side. It is en suite as well - nice clean bathroom with shower.”

“The 6 bed dorm at the front can be a little noisy with people leaving nearby restaurants after dinner & the church across the road rings their bell quite early! But it really wasn't an issue!”
