We travelled to Aquila for a one day safari from our hotel in cape town. The journey was long but it was so worth it. The whole safari was out of its world wished we could do a longer one we seen everything and it was lovely to see the animals in their on environment and not in a zoo....

We chose to book an overnight safari through their website without transfers. Having never driven in cape town before I was slightly apprehensive, although this turned out to be for no reason. Download google maps offline and use a phone as sat nav, it was really easy to find. Upon arrival we parked and were offered a nice welcome drink...

Our tour enabled us to see giraffe, lions, water buffalo, wilderbeast, elephants, zebras, spring bok and rhinoceros at very close proximity and we obtained some wonderful photographs. We were also thrilled to hear seven lions roaring in unison which was absolutely incredible and a sound we will never forget. The spa was wonderfully relaxing and a great alternative to an...

We arrived to Aquila by rented car from Cape Town to be welcomed with wine and nice breakfast buffet. We enjoyed our breakfast at the terrace with a wonderful view overlooking pool and mountains. After breakfast very nice and friendly ranger took us for a safari during which we saw four of the big 5 up close and learned interesting...

I travelled to Aquila with three of my friends for an overnight stay. As we were staying in Capetown with no car, we opted for a scheduled pick up and drop off. The reserve is ~2 hours from the city but taking into account picking people up, it took approximately 3 hours from start to finish. Looking back, I would...

If you're visiting South Africa, and aren't going anywhere other than the Cape Town area, Aquila Private Game Reserve is a great way to get in some rest and relaxation, as well as experiencing the "big 5." The accommodation/restaurant/spa/pool is fantastic. The location is also fantastic. You're quite secluded from the city - so there's not a lot of light...

This was my first trip to South Africa, and it was a vacation of a lifetime. So many amazing things to see and do. So much wonderful food and wine! Our experience at Aquila Lodge was definitely a highlight. We stayed in one of the private cabins- more like "clamping" than roughing it. The outdoor shower and indoor fireplace were...

The reserve is matriculate maintained with lovely lodges of nice new hotel rooms. Unfortunately the strong wind was to cold to take a dip in the beautiful swimming pool but a walk along the fences showed an ostrich family close by. And then ... the elephants walked in our direction, awesome! End of the day was a game drive and...

Awesome property. You will definitely see big 5, if you stay overnight and go for late evening and morning safaris. Accommodation is too good and in the midst of the nature. very tastefully done!! Guides are very informative,

We stayed in one of the main building rooms with a balcony. It was vaguely surreal to sit out on the balcony drinking tea watching an ostrich family a matter of yards away and then see, a little further off, a pair of elephants wander across!! That will stay with us many years. We were greeted with sparkling wine or...
