I certainly enjoyed the experiencing the hotels old history. Breakfast was really amazing and the service was fantastic. I did have a little issue with the smell of my bathroom. There was a sort of sewerage smell coming from the bathroom through out my stay and I am aware that they had a plumbing issue as they had no hot...

Thank you very much for your review, and although we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the hotel as well as the "amazing" and service from the hotel staff, we do apologise that you experienced a bad smell coming from your bathroom. We have forwarded your review to our Maintenance and Technical Manager to resolve the...

In the need of "down time" after a couple of intense weeks, we decided to book a night at Mount Nelson Hotel. Amazing room, food, drinks - ultra friendly and professional staff and the most stunning heated pool - made us feel like we were on proper holiday. Very impressed. Fantastic breakfast, great art... Nothing - absolutely nothing to complain...

My favourite hotel in Cape Town by a margin. Im a young lad and have stayed before at a few hotels like the Cape Grace, The one and only, the twelve apostles but this is my favourite and will return here every time. The other hotels are slightly more modern and trendy but you feel like you could be in...

Wow, how can we reply to this magnificent review?! We are blown away by your compliments and are now feeling even more proud of our staff and of the property. We love the fact that you found it far more interesting and lively to stay here rather than down at the Waterfront. And we are looking forward to your next...

We did not have the schedule availability for High Tea, so found that they offered a Chef's Table, which we LOVED. Only 4 tables in an alcove off of the hotel's huge kitchen. Multi-course, with wine pairing (full glasses) for each course (or not) brought to your table by the chef who prepared it! They provide a brief description and...

We agree that our Chef's Table in the heart of the hotel kitchens is one of our lesser known delights and is just perfect for those who enjoy a culinary adventure. Thanks for the lovely review.

You need to attend a High Tea at the Mount Nelson. It is just amazing. You start out with tea, of course, and some hot and warm finger foods. When you have finished with that you can go to the dessert table which is amazing and it goes on forever. There is no way in the world that you could...

Thank you so much, that was a lovely review. And we are delighted that you enjoyed the full savoury selection, followed by the myriad of cakes and sweet treats, and of course everyone still loves fresh warm scones.

Excellent afternoon tea with an array of delicious sandwiches and canapes. You have to see the desserts to believe it. A plethora of cakes, cookies, squares and petit fours that make your mouth water. Plus the tea choices are amazing. I had a tasty rooibos. Check it out. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful property, friendly, helpful staff. One of THE best hotels I've ever stayed in. If you get the opportunity to stay in a cottage, take it. We had three nights there and it was worth every penny, er rand.

I recently had the opportunity to spend a night at the Mount Nelson with my team. Whilst I had previously thought that the property was dated, this visit really opened my eyes to a hidden gem, stuck in a time warp. The property is more than a 100 years old and was built to house passengers from the liners plying...
