We stayed for two nights in the Superior room which i booked in January 2015. This was suppose to be the top end rooms. Even though i booked in January 2015 and paid in January 2015 , on checking in , i was given a room on the lower firts floor. I am a Procard member for over 15 years...

It may be that this was the end of a longish trip but our impression was that this Protea was not as good as their usual standard (incidentally we accidentally, care of satnav, went to the one just down the road and we would make the same comment about attitude about that one too) The security staff in the car...

Booked this through Marriott, which now owns or has a marketing agreement with the Protea chain. Expected, based on Marriott's webpage, that I'd be able to enjoy "full elite benefits." Wrong. No free breakfast, no room upgrade, no enhanced Internet. In fact, barely any Internet connectivity at all. The staff seemed amused that I'd ask, but in fairness, they seem...

My first time in Cape Town and if I wasn't with my friend I might not have found this hotel that easily. The room is not too bad as the beds were comfortable and I had a lovely view of the famous mountain! The bathroom was acceptable except in the morning there was no hot water it was luke warm....

This was our original booking in Cape Town thinking it was near the wharf. It isn't far, but one must cross a highway to get there. We stayed one night of a four night booking. The room (61) was an efficiency apartment with no view other than the building next door--which had fabulous views into our apartment. I found two...

For the price I paid..... Diabolical, I am actually worried about going to sleep tonight. Rooms are in need of a serious upgrade and their is zero atmosphere in this place. The staff have good attitudes and that amazes me as this place feels like Fort Knox. Parking in the basement is so tight you need to do a 8...

I have generally had good experiences with the Protea brand but this one was the worst experience. Had selected this property for its proximity to the Waterfront yet not in the hustle and bustle. It is located on a main road and mostly residential. The good: -was welcomed as an Marriott Reward member -received notes in my room from the...

I stayed here as part of a business trip of South Africa. The hotel is OK, but does not have much going for it. The rooms are OK, the corridors very narrow and a bit claustrophobic but on the good side the staff were willing and very pleasant. Breakfast was reasonable and the overall cost was great but I would...

The service and views and value make up for this older property's tiredness. It is a great location with both a grocery store and a slew of great restaurants and bars just around the corner. The staff were exceptional, always happy to help. Rooms are big if you have living area but the bedrooms are very tight. Two twins will...

I got a room here for one night although all the other hotels were sold out. I had a small room. It's clean and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast was not included. It's in walking distance to the V&A waterfront. It's more like a business hotel. I probably wouldn't stay here again unless I had a meeting just around the...
