We stayed at the Commodore because we wanted to spend time at the Waterfront. Just a short walk and you are there. The room lacked a luggage rack for my suitcase and so I had to put my case on the floor, AND had to carry my case up to my room. The bathrooms could be modernised and have better...

The bottom line is you get what you pay for. We needed to stay in the Waterfront as it was just one night and we were on a company budget which at GBP200 per person is not overly tight. However all the hotels in the V&A exceeded this, except The Commodore. The hotel is on the outskirts of the V&A,...

This hotel is very central especially to the Cape Town Waterfront. It has recently renovated its rooms. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Take a room that does not face the street. The breakfast has a very wide spread.

A very disappointing experience. I frequently travel to Cape Town for business and have stayed in many hotels on the waterfront. In comparison the Commodore was plain, overpriced but the most frustrating part was the service left much to be desired. For that kind of money there are far better options both in Cape Town and on the V and...

This hotel us a easy safe 5 minutes walk from the waterfront, we stayed for 8 nights and were able to eat somewhere different each meal. Hotel lounge, bar area very good with excellent menu choice & pleasant helpful staff . We had superior room, small for price & had very old fashioned very noisy air conditioning unit although this...

A great location right on the Waterfront. The rooms are very dated and dark, especially the bathrooms. Service is average. Difficult to park your car and to find the pay station. Not sure if the hotel can pre-pay your ticket but that information was not forthcoming. There are much better options in Cape Town.

Easy walk to The Waterfront, parking on site. Rooms very dated but clean enough, dark corridors and similar rooms, poor air con, internet limited (IE capped at 750mb per day) and very slow, expensive to buy more, laundry service average (didn't collect on one day but sorted later), needed a new door key every time I went to the room,...

We stayed at the Commadore for two nights. Perfect location just off the V & A. The staff are the most helpful I have came accross. Nothing was too much trouble. They even charged my mobile phone for me as I had already packed my charger. Room was large and comfortable with a fantastic bath and separate shower. The only...

Location cannot be matched. It is across from a parking garage that "lowers" you to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront area. At the ground floor of the parking deck is a fabulous aquarium, and is a pickup point for the HOP on HOP off busses Further along is a great "food court" of non-duplicated food items. Further along from there is...

Myself and my wife stayed in a room here in November and our mothers stayed in another room. The service was fantastic - check in was done very quickly and very professionally.
