This guesthouse is in what is called the City Town area of Capetown. While it is recommended almost everywhere in South Africa to be cautious of pickpockets and not to walk after dark, this neighborhood is quite nice and feels comfortable even after dark for shot walk from the several good restaurant within a few minutes walk. The Guesthouse itself...

Stayed at this charming guest house for four nights in January and really enjoyed it. The staff were very helpful and caring, ensuring that we enjoyed our stay with them. The house is a very old, gracious building with a lovely shady garden where breakfast can be taken. We ate three nights at restaurants that the owners recommended and really...

I don't know where to start as I have so much to say about this B&B. We stayed there for 5 nights and left with regret because we were so well treated, however we had a flight to catch. We were welcomed upon our arrival with a friendly smile named Kaylah who explained all the necessary details to make our...

Staying at "an African Villa" was very nice. Our room was of good size and clean. The personal were very nice and helpfull. It's location was about 6 mins from table mountain and about 12 mins from the VA Waterfront. There were many resturants within walking distance but it should be noted that the area is very hilly. It was...

A beautifully decorated boutique hotel. The rooms are so comfortable, breakfast delicious and the service is what really sets this hotel apart: it is warm, personal yet discreet. The location is great too: a leafy residential street less than 10 min walk to the lively restaurants of Kloof street. Thank you for such a perfect stay.

An African Villa is a gem. The rooms are beautiful, well maintained. The service provided by all of the staff is great. Loved the breakfasts. Especially loved the sherry and port made available every evening. Made even more special when there was cake or sweets at the end of the day.

I booked this place based solely on the high ratings on TripAdvisor. I was not disappointed at all. In fact this place exceeded all my expectations. The best part is the staff and feeling of being safe. My room was very clean. The vibe at the place was quite, casual, and very relaxed. Breakfast was great. The ladies who prepared...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Villa is much more than that! It is in fact three houses which are part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. The double story houses have been joined together and so the inside spaces are much larger than the facade suggests. It's like walking into a TARDIS someone has written on Tripadvisor! There are 12 rooms and the hotel is owner managed.Location is vital when choosing a spot for you vacation and this more than a Villa is within an easy walk of all tourist attractions in the city area. The others (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter there's a sociable dining room and an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts are very careful to offer you as much information as you want and they will arrange car rental, restaurant reservations, tours etc. As required.Free internet on 2 computers in a library area and wireless access is available in all rooms. At night the night porter will set out complimentary sherry and port and at other times there is an honesty bar and guest fridge in the kitchen. Parking is on street and there is no charge (street guards patrol) but you should not need a car from this well placed hotel. ... more   less
