Very friendly proprietors who make breakfast for you. Overall, it’s a fine 3-star establishment and has nice views. It feels a bit dated, though. We heard they may consider some renovations in the future. Wifi is only available in the breakfast room, not in the rooms. TV is tiny. The room we had had two floors with a sleeper couch... More

Everything about this accommodation was perfect. The management was very cordial and made a great breakfast. Our views were perfect, overlooking the lagoon. And our room was more like an apartment. What a treat!

Stayed there for a night out of the season though. But an amazing place, great rooms and great view from the rooms. Rooms were cosy with a place for fire too. Owners were very helpful. Breakfast was good too. Recommend this place for couples and families too.

Stayed out of season when it was very quiet, but thoroughly recommended. Chris really looked after us, ensuring we not only had a cracking breakfast every morning, but knew the best places to visit and eat in the daytime. Lodges are very spacious and well equipped. A little out of town so a car is essential.

We haven't stayed here for a while but stayed here many times when we lived in Cape Town. The whole family are wonderful people and the atmosphere is so calm and welcoming. We followed a lucky signpost one day, arrived unannounced and were welcomed so warmly. We have taken friends here over the years and they have all loved it.... More

We too were on a Garden Route tour with this property pre-selected as part of the itinerary. We arrived on a wet, windy dreary afternoon and were met by our cheerful host Chris who runs the place with wife Gelia and her parents. We found the kitchen well stocked with wine and water "to go" on the honor system and... More

Myself and 2 friends stayed here for 1 night on a tour we were doing down the coast. The staff were very welcoming, helped us with our luggage and ensured we had everything we might need. Rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Decor was a bit dated but this added to the homely, quaint atmosphere of the place. The... More

The lodge provided everything we wanted after a long journey along the Garden Route. The room was very comfortable and had a stunning view of the lagoon. Chris and Gelia produced an excellent breakfast and Chris' omelette should not be missed. Would thoroughly recommend this lodge for anyone travelling along the Garden Route.

“Make sure you get a room with a view of the Knysna lagoon...the changing light at different times of the day is beautiful. And in winter, bring some layered clothing as the small electric heater does work to keep up in bad weather...yet that's part of the romance too!”
