We stayed 2 nights at the Knysna Terrace Guesthouse and had a lovely time. The room was spotlessly clean and beds were very comfy. Breakfast was incredibly generous. Access into Knysna was easy and would have been a nice walk on a sunny day (it rained whilst we were there!). The house does look over a busy road but beyond... More

5 Star service and accommodation. What a awesome 2 day stay. Arrived as strangers and left as friends. Highly recommended. We will be back to enjoy the superb hospitality and wonderful breakfast. Keep it up.

Very, very loud close to N2. And the view is always on the street, so the feeling is not very cosy or special. Much kitch and decoration all over. The host is during breakfast always around you, some like it, some not to be observed all the time.

This was my first visit to Knysna. It was near the end of my holiday and I was starting to feel homesick. The Knysna Terrace Guest house felt like home with all the personal attention from our hostess Dr. Maureen Barnard and her staff. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've... More

Very familiar atmosphere. Nice and clean house. The owner is very friendly and tells you many things to do in knysna. Minibar is filled whithout extracosts. Surrounding is very safe and car parking just in front of the house. Knysna cente in a walking distance with nice restsurants and shops. We liked the waterfront. Knysna is a place we would... More

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. The room was very comfortable. The fridge in the room allowed us to keep our drinks cold. There was also 2 glasses of complimentary wine and a bottle of milk. We didn't expect much of the continental breakfast but we were taken a back by the huge spread. The icing on the... More

Owner Maureen paid so much attention to detail. Awesome breakfasts! Would have been nice to have lock up parking facilities. Bathroom extractor fan old and too small for bathroom with no windows. Everything else was amazing.

What a service!!!!!! The weekend was cold and wet, but the staff and their manager warmed the weekend for us. Lots of thanks to them. We enjoyed free wine and milk. The place is perfectly located. Rooms are clean and excellent linen.

The hostess was very friendly and very accomodating. The venue was excellent, the heated pool was closed for the duration of our stay, but we enjoyed the guest house and the town of Knysna very much and we would recommend it as a great place to stay .

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Knysna Terrace Boutique Guesthouse is a family owned and run guesthouse. At our core we hold to heart the stories from ancient Greece, which would caution mortals that any guest should be treated as if potentially a disguised divinity. It is these principles of hospitality toward any stranger who enters our establishment, and the belief of extending generosity and courtesy to our guests, with a warm-hearted and relaxed atmosphere, that makes us passionate about hospitality, but more especially about making your stay with us as memorable as possible. At Knysna Terrace Boutique Guesthouse we aim to stay true to nature and embrace this beautiful town with its forests, mountains and oceans...thus our décor is Mediterranean-themed, which also pays homage to the phenomenal bird-life in our pristine forests, hence the holding company name Pouli (Pooh-lee)-which is a beautiful Greek work for Bird! We would also like to set your mind at ease that all amenities are biodegradable and environmentally friendly, and our famous breakfasts are prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients...good for the environment, good for you! So ... to get noisy, long reaches, clashing forks, bumps, spills and friendship are all part of our process. They are the happy (and perhaps noisy) atmosphere us Greeks are well-known for, and we love to have our guests join in on our fun! We do hope that you enjoy this unique hospitable experience that we have to offer...our aim is after all, to make your stay as comfortable and relaxed as it can be, to allow you to unwind and return home with a warm smile when remembering us...and of course, to have you back every time you visit the beautiful town of Knysna! ... more   less
