This is a lovely little town and the hotel was quite charming. It was very quiet with great air conditioning which led to a good nights sleep! The dinner buffet was quite sparse though; certainly nothing to get excited about.

Carol, Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your hotel. You should have ask for more food at the dinner buffet if it was getting sparse. I will talk to my chef.

A good base for staying in Oudtshoorn. Room whilst not overly large was comfortable and the shower was exceptionally good. Pleasant public rooms , helpful staff and nice terrace overlooking main road. Pool had seen better days but acceptable. Plenty of restaurants within a stone's throw.

We had lunch twice in the cafe. The food appears to be made fresh each day. there is nothing particularly fancy about the surroundings but the food is of good quality and very reasonably priced for what you get. the fact that many locals eat here is a plus

Café Brulé is our own coffee shop on the front stoep and is very popular with the locals.

I have not been back to Oudtshoorn since my officer training days in 1981. Travelling back to Cape Town we decided to stay over. Glad we did - it was a super stay in a colonial style hotel. The room was clean and the beds just right for a good night's sleep. The restaurant proved to be a gem as...

My wife and I were there for the Meiringspoort Half Marathon. Comfortable, clean, pleasant stay all round. Within easy strolling distance of an unexpectedly varied supply of nearby eateries. Lovely in-house restaurant. Design of the shower cubicle needs some attention as it lets floods of water out onto the floor. Could do with a shelf somewhere to place toiletries.

My daughter referred me to this venue. Although it was a quiet weekday the food and services was excellent I had lovely lunch and cappuccino. Situated in main road near Museum it was still quiet and we had a peaceful well presented lunch.

We stayed at the hotel over a weekend. From check in to the resturant to the bathrooms....all were exceptional. Truly worth it. I would recommend this hotel and especially their in house resturant to any traveller. Their menu boasts with true local flavour-the best ostrich carpaccio and simple classics done to perfection.

Undergone extensive renovations. Bathroom well appointed but room was small. Good location. Friendly staff. Breakfast ok. The saviour to the hotel are the gallery of photos and yesteryear charm. Try the colony restaurant within the hotel.

This hotel takes you back in time: - where you would imagine elegantly dressed folk sitting in the luxuriously furnished lounge to either read or have a pre-dinner drink. - where you would have dressed up for dinner which is served in their formal dining room. All so very elegant The passages leading to the rooms are lined with very...

This is a old colonial hotel that is in need of a little bit of maintenance. Our door handle was very loose. But in general a very clean and restful place. The shower was one of the best I have seen in hotels for a long time. The bed was a bit short for me being only 1.82m but it...
