Are you looking for good times and friends that you'll have for the rest of your life? Sure, travel is what you make it but I can only say good things about the people, hostel and staff at Tango. Antonela, Nata, Nacho, Joaquin and the rest of the staff at Tango made my stay here not only amazing but unforgettable....

I came out to BA in transit to Bariloche with a ton of friends from back in Los Angeles. I was in charge of organizing everything but I hadn’t organized accommodation before I came out here other than booking 3 nights in Tango’s which had been recommended to me by some friends. It was such a friendly hostel - the...

This hostel is not great for couples, but good for singles or backpackers. The staff is really nice and helpful and this place is set up to meet other travelers. You do have to pay in advance, but we've found this to be standard here at the hostels in Buenos Aires (we've stayed in three so far). Some of the...

This place is truly filthy and the staff are either drunk or too hung over to be of any help. We stayed in a double room which smelt aweful. We only stayed because we got a free night. The bathrooms and showers are revolting and there was never any toilet paper. The party scene is not even that good, there...

Don´t stay at this hostel!!! It´s terrible! Me and my mom arrived at this hostel and the unkind lady at the reception said that we had to pay ALL THE NIGHTS beforehand. So, we had to look all day for exchange the money, since the hostel is more expensive if you pay it in dollars. When we saw our bedroom,...

went to this hostel first in BA and made a horrible experience. After two nights in a terribly loud, clumsy room my whole body was covered with red dots due to insects (bed bucks, flies, fleas....whatsoever?!?). This was the worst experience I have ever made in a hostel.

Tango is a pretty lively joint and is quite a large hostel. There are good communal areas to socialise with other travellers if you are travelling solo which is good. The accommodation itself is pretty basic, but its a good location in Palermo for the price. Can get a bit crowded and noisy, and I didn't find the staff particularly...

The only cockroach I saw in two months in South America was here. The rooms are filthy, the matresses smell. There is no aircon, and it is on a very busy and noisy road, so opening the windows while you are trying to sleep is not really an option. The redeeming factors are the location, which is in trendy Palermo...

this hostel is in a great location in BA, staff is pretty helpful, if you come here though I recommend you really enjoy the nightlife and partying, because that´s the type of hostel it is. Kitchen has a total of 3 forks, not good for cooking in, the top bunk beds are kind of hard to get into, but the...

This place has great communal areas, a large kitchen, roof terrace and a bar but this is undermined by how unhelpful and disorganised the staff are. They showed me one room when I booked a dorm and assured me I'd be staying there. When I turned up the next day with my backpack they seemed to have lost my reservation....

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
