Just returned from a trip to Buenos Aires and was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations at Casa Calma Hotel. Although rather modest on the outside and a somewhat hidden entrance , the staff were amazingly attentive and kind. We arrived a bit early and our room was understandably not ready but Noelia at the front desk welcomed us into the...

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff is amazing, the location could not be better, the security is great and the hotel rooms are extremely classy. The only suggestion is to offer a more private bathroom door.

The Casa Calma Hotel is not like any other hotel I have stayed in. It is more like staying with family. The reception desk was wonderful! We arrived very early in the morning and they quickly accommodated us with a room and even upgraded us! It was our 46th anniversary and they gave us complimentary champagne with snacks and even...

We stayed for 3 nights in January. The room was very big and open space. We had a jacuzzi looking inside the bedroom (which we used once :)) and a nice balcony covered by plants. We could take their two free bicycles for free and ride around town, which was very easy. The staff was also super nice and helpfull....

Location is superb but the attentiveness & hospitality of the staff was beyond expectations we are due to stay in the hotel again on our way home but unfortunately it is for only one night, we wish it...

What a delight, as the name says this is really a Casa Calme. A little boutique hotel in BA, well located, bright and airy, with very friendly staff. An absolute delight A very enjoyable experience in a hectic city

The only disappoint was that we only go to stay one night at this hotel. We were greeted right as we walked in and were made to feel welcome immediately. The staff was efficient and extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations. The room was modern, clean, comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed with lots of counter space and a...

I stayed in room 802 for 3 nights in late Dec-14. The room itself was great - spacious with large glass windows so lots of natural light, wood floors and trim on the walls and a large 2-person jacuzzi tub. It was also very quiet at all times of the day or night. The hotel itself has a small footprint...

There are advantages to choosing chain hotels. The offering is consistent, your expectations are often met, certain things are standard: the bedding, the greeting, the appearance of the room, the taste of the breakfast, the feel of the hotel. In short, there are usually no nasty surprises. Casa Calma however is not a chain hotel. Accordingly one's expectations for this...

This was the third of the three hotels we stayed in BA and our last stop on our 23 day trip. The hotel does a great job of using a very limited space, with spacious, well-appointed rooms with great bathrooms/spas, terrific bedding, high quality toiletries and overall peaceful environment. Breakfast is good sized, good quality. Front desk staff are helpful...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
